Need help on a part!!!

I know it's a parts sale forum, but I have better luck here usually with knowledge.

I'm needing a shift cable for my 1977 Tahiti 17'9" feet (18ft) jet boat.
I don't know the type of cable I need. My pump has a small hole on the bucket arm and a "set screw" it seems to hold it in place...my pump IS a old jacuzzi but it has the energizer kit on it!

is this a 33c teleflex cable setup like the old wj and yj jacuzzi's have. Or is it another, I dont think the big 43bc my friend has on his jet boat would work at all. What do I need...and is a average cable 14ft on a 18ft jetboat??? I'm thinking I need a 14ft....

any help is greatly appreciated.

standard 4300bc cable. there should be some markings on it somewhere that say what length it is. u can get replacements from CP Performance - Performance Marine Parts, Boat Parts, Marine Engine Parts (had great results, they usually get it to you in a couple days, great website to order thru unlike rexmar and others where u have to call...)

That's the problem fellas, I don't have the old cable, this was a bare hull when I picked it up. As for the 43bc cable, it's thicker than the hole it should slide through. I read the jacuzzis used the 33c for the shift cable, I'm curious if the makers of the energizer kit took that into consideration when making the parts, if so it'd use the standard cable that woulda been on the boat. It's a small hole with a small set screw to keep it in place it looks like to me.

The cable in the pic is the jetovator cable (43bc) I think. The hole beside it for the bucket is small, fits a 33c cable, like a throttle. Only thing I see being a problem is it don't "lock" into forward or nothing, are they suppose to lock in, or does the bucket stay up if you have it in forward and take off.

interesting deal you have with the set screw. most of what ive seen uses the 43bc for the diverter and the bucket with 2 nuts jammed against each other holding it in place.



the small hole u have is a 33c standard control cable. just take a piece of wire/string and measure how long you need.

Might call Place and ask them. I bet if you post this in the jet section you will get your answer.
