Well I've got a few types you could borrow, even a spare mag, but geographicly it would be tough. Hopefully someone from your area will step up and loan you something. A mag would be best so you don't have to change any wiring. BTW, beware that a tach could cause problems, as well as your grounding wire. Maybe un hook the tach/ground from the circuit and see if the problem continues.........Ray

Thanks for the offer Ray, very cool of you! My employer's corporate office is in Sante Fe Springs and I'm sure my very cool boss would pack and ship a ignition to me. He would probably be even be willing to have it picked up for me. Let's wait and see if anyone local can help me out.

The tach that was in the boat wasn't working properly so I pulled it out of the boat (after the last outing) in favor of a AutoMeter tach made for a Vertex mag with a bult-in coil. I haven't tried the "new to me" tach yet. I should come up with a alternate temporary kill switch also, that's a good idea. If the problem persists at Elsinore I can swap kill switches before ignitions.

    Default bump

I want to BORROW a ignition for a BBC. I want to go to Lake Elsinore on the 20th (a week from today). My engine was experiencing progressive loss of power problems last time out and I'm suspecting it's the mag going out.

I would like either a mag or a Ready To Run electronic distributor, either way it would need to have a bronze gear. It also needs to clear my TR and have 90* spark plug boots. If it breaks in my posession I'll buy it from you and pay for it on the 26th. Thanks!
