Default BBC Rotating Assembly / Heads / Exhaust Manifolds

    Here's what I've got...

    Updated 7/9/2009
--- SOLD --- World Products Merlin Intake Manifold
    --- SOLD --- BBC Chevy Hi-Perf Heads

Complete BBC Forged Rotating Assembly - $400
Stock Forged GM Crank / Dimple Rods / TRW Forged Pistons .060 Over / Flywheel / Damper / Timing Chain / Timing Gear

The crankshaft... after 30 years it's got some slight pitting. It was NOT causing an oil leak when it was in the boat so as-is it will work fine for most. If I were to put the crank in a fresh motor I would have it cleaned up. My crankshaft guy told me he could make it "like new" but I went with a forged stroker crank instead. The GM rods are in visibly good shape. This is only an educated guess, but I think the pistons have less than 50 hours on them. The boat sat unused for a LONG time after the previous owner had the motor rebuilt. The cylinder bores and rings showed very little use and the pistons are clean with no signs of detonation related damage. The only reason I didn't reuse these parts is I wanted more cubes so a stroker kit was installed.

All parts can be picked up or shipped. Ship from ZIP code is 92352 - Lake Arrowhead. I commute from Lake Arrowhead to Irvine a few days a week so if you live in the IE or OC I can deliver them if necessary. Cold Hard Cash is preferred... but I can also accept credit cards (charged through work) and PayPal.

Sorry for the delay in responding... it's been a busy couple of weeks.

It looks like the pistons are a TRW / SpeedPro part number. L2399 @ .060 over. Not sure on the rings. The pistons are still hung on the rods. I'd like to sell the entire rotating assembly if possible. I've got the crank, rods, pistons, flywheel, and damper. I've attached a few pictures of the rotating assembly.

    Default New Item...

Valve Springs... These came from the set of BBC 310 Canfield heads that I put on the rebuild. The spring pressure was just too high for the lazy putt putt hydraulic roller motor I was building. The springs were installed on the heads by Canfield, removed, tested in a spring tester, and put right into a box. They have never been run.

    Make reasonable offer.

The intake manifold might be sold... the rest is taking up room in a rarely used bedroom closet. Make me an offer.

    Ray,

Not sure. I have no idea what has or has not been done to these heads. The last shop to work on the motor before I pulled it was Pfaff but this was years and years and years ago. The previous owner took the boat to Pfaff and had it freshened up with some "hop up parts" and a .030 over cleanup. I talked to Paul about it on the phone and he had a vague memory of the build. Regarding the heads... I have no problem taking a basic measurement for you of each valve but it might take me a couple of days to get the numbers.

    Jeff
