    Default Hour Meter

Im looking into picking up a hour meter so I can gauge my fuel a little better. Does anyone have any insight on brands, style, ect? Ive seen a traditional analog gauge and also a digital one. Any thoughts on which is better?? I plan on keeping it near the transom(probably simi tucked away) so im not all that concerned about the esthetics of it.

I have a couple of used hourmetters, will see if I can find them. Would be cheap, probably $10 plus the postage.

Wouldn't fuel consumption very drastically based on driving and idling times etc. Heck I'd just buy a ruler and stick in the tank to measure level.

Ive got the ruler and stick and my fuel gauge works as well. Granted the type of driving will be a huge variable but it will give me a rough idea as to what my gallons per hour are. Be nice to know how much fuel im burning on a full day at the lake.

Great maintenance tool as well. Document at what hours you changed the oil or replaced, upgraded or anything and everything you do to the engine.

Found one of them, VDO Quartz hourmeter with 136.7 hours on it... $10 plus shipping, will fit in a small USPS "if it fits, it ships" box, so probably $5-8 shipping?

    Just call it $15 shipped?

It looks like my tach is acting up a bit so I'm thinking about spending a few more bucks and just getting a new tach with an hour meter in it. Any thoughts?
