I have a spare 565cid BBC from my boat. It has nearly 175 hours on it.
It was low on compression when I replaced it. Found "black death" on top of the pistons. The rest of the engine is in great shape. Callies crank, Eagle L-19 rods, Edelebrock CNC aluminum heads w/ inconel exhaust valves and stainless steel intakes. Hydraulic roller cam, lifters and pushrods. Everything in this motor is top class. Needs new pistons. Might not need bore. Needs to be checked. Caught the problem early.
I have other Big Block Chevy parts, cam, electric water pumps, oil pumps and more. $5000 in good lightly use parts. $10k if bought new.
more info: It is a Gen VI low deck. 4.530 bore x 4.375 stroke. Callies dragon slayer crank. Two Hyd. Roller cams, lifters and pushrods. No rockers. Polished Valve covers. Long Block. Victor 365cc runner #7760 CNC'd heads. Flywheel, Damper, 77 oil pump included. Needs pistons. $5000. Twice that invested.
PM me your email for more info.
Not everyone in this world tells the truth but I still tend to believe people. Then when I get burned, I take them off my list, completely. If I find out that I made any error I correct it. Any serious buyer who buys used parts will go to the parts for sale and inspect them personally or proxy. The only positive way to know what you are getting. Don't judge them buy phone.
For the shopper that challenged me on value of these part when I replaced them new, here are receipt numbers. Some of the replacement parts were more expensive than what I am selling like the bowtie block.
GMPP block and roller cam $1,953
AFR CNC heads compete $5,184
Callies rotating assembley $3,967 crank, rods and pistons balanced
flywheel $ 195
Front dampner $ 299
Polished aluminun valve covers $ 150
Oil pump $ 35
push rods $ 90
Hyd. roller lifters $ 425
Total new cost $12,298
You may find them cheaper someplace but I say my $10,000 claim is resonable for these parts new.
Don't always believe the so called experienced expert. Check the numbers and quality for your self. Thanks for looking.
