Default Project car.... Got the tires to fit on the '55.

Slowed down a bit working on the 55 Chevrolet a bit. Walnut season is coming up and getting ready for harvest has taken a little bit of my time.
Did a trial fit of a set of wheels and tires that were in the shop. Perfect fit. Set the pinion angle and will test fit the chassis under the car.

Can't see if there's a pic attached, but sounds like the body is currently off. If so, keep in mind you need to re-check the pinion angle after the body is on and the chassis is loaded.

The chassis has ladder bars, pain in the ass to adjust vs a four bar setup. First time messing with this kind of stuff. Wanted to try to get the pinion angle close while the body was off. Lots easier. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Set the body on the chassis. Had a few minor problems. The motor is set a tad further back in the chassis than a normal BB chevrolet install. Have installled a recessed firewall already but the rear carb hits the lower part of the cowl. Will test fit the blower that the car will eventually run and hope I have a bit more clearance. The previous car the chassis was underneath had a notch molded in, just below the cowl area, that I have just become aware of. The pic below is the body that the chassis came from showing the notch. The picture also shows the front body mount removed.

The fenderwell headers are a tight fit and and surround the stealing shaft. Moving the engine forward will not be an option. May try to mount the tunnel ram carbs sideways. Wanted to work the bugs out of the car without the blower mounted first.

Another issue is the front body mount that is attached to the firewall was removed on the the previous body. The fenderwell headers use this real estate area to exit the vehicle. Will be removing my front mounts. Was going to run a manual Trans at first and had read that these mounts strengthen the firewall when using a clutch setup. Car will be running a power glide, so no clutch needed. Also, my son has been trimming some sheetmetal out of the trunk to make way for some wheel tubs.
