    Default Jet boat upset

So, this conversation always comes up between me and the old men at home. Now, if you take a look in the LODBRS rule book and take a look at what’s is(and isn’t) there. I can go out and rig me a capsuled place. Toss a good ol trusty Blown Alky motor in there, but I’ll run a Screw Blower instead of a High Helix. I’ll also remind you that for all of us out here in Texas, and everywhere but NJBA, PROMOD/PROOUTLAW is 1000’.

So, the reason behind this little thread. Why the hell are we not out here in the Pro mod and pro outlaw class. Hell even an open jet in QE, with some screw blower setups blasting these hydro boys out of the water in 1000’??

    Thoughts, opinions?

Not sure I get the jist of everything you're saying, but there's a bunch of jets in QE doing really well but all are nitrous motors, not blown. UBFJ at NJBA has a bunch of fast jets too. I'm sure if someone built a fast enough capsuled jet, it would be welcome in Pro Mod/Outlaw. If jet's are your thing, build it and there's a class to run.
All that said, and I'm not a jet guy, but the racers that do run fast jets seem to favor big nitrous combos over blown deals. Seems power management early in the run is easier on nitrous than with blowers. A prop can take pretty much all the power you can make at the hit of the throttle and apparently that's not quite the same with jets.....

The fastest jet boat at NJBA was an open blown gas jet. Much quicker than all the nitrous boats and much quicker than all the capsule Top fuel jets. Power management is not an issue at all in a jet boat. Blown or nitrous deals are not that difficult to get going early. I think the reason most arenít running pro mod or pro outlaw is itís a big expense and a ton of work to run a class that has an et cap.

That is not an accurate statement.

Going fast is only half the fun ... what you make go
    fast is the other half.
