Default Emily Perkins : "Ginger Snaps"

Is anyone else a fan of the "Ginger Snaps" movies??

I have seen "Ginger Snaps", and "Ginger Snaps Back".
Right now I am watching "Ginger Snaps: Unleashed" (DTV 244) and once again Emily Perkins is giving an off the hook performance as "Bridgette".
Many may laugh at that, considering the somewhat corny basis of the Ginger movies, but that character she plays is just great!!

(She was also in Juno, as the wise ass receptionist at the clinic)

    "Ginger Snaps Back" is next!!

    Question

I remember I loved the first one but I can't even remember if I've watched the second one or not?
Not to spoil anything for anyone but did they do the wolfsbane thing in the first one or second one? I remember something about that. I think. Fail memory is fail. Have never even heard of the unleashed version. How is it different? Extra scenes or just better graphics?

BTW That gif freaked me out! LOL!

Yeah, I didn't notice the eyes for a minute, freaked me out too!

There is actually 3 of the movies.

Unleashed is part 2, Ginger Snaps back is part 3, which is a "prequel".

In unleashed (2), Bridgette is in an institution following the harrowing, gory end of the original movie. (Which She somehow survived).
The shenanigans are quite harrowing, and the effects are much more disturbing. Emily Perkins (Bridgette) really throws down the gauntlet with her performance, and puts a trademark stamp on that character.
Her dark, brooding sarcasm is taken to new levels, and is, frankly, the best performance of her career.

In "Snaps back" (3) the sisters are set in a remote fort in the Nova Scotia wilderness besieged by furry critters back in the 1800's. (It's the same girls, but are supposed to be like ancestors?)
It's not the best of the 3, but is still riveting.

The original will always be the one that started it all, but part 2, unleashed, may actually be the best of all.

I am not a big fan of Horror Movies, but for some reason I am hooked on these, and that twisted little sister!!

    Thumbs up

Ahh okay. Wow I didn't realize they made three movies. I think I haven't seen parts 2 or 3 then from what you've described. Guess I'll have to rent them.

I don't like all horror movies just werewolf, sci-fi and Freddy Krueger (not the remake of the original though). Thanks for the descriptions of the other two Ginger Snaps movies, I trust viewer reviews more than the stuff written on the promos and back covers of the dvd's.

Thats funny, Freddy is the ONLY slasher horrors I like!
I do also like the "Hellraiser" flicks though.
