    Default pismo next weekend

Anyone ever do the Pismo thing? Are the dunes a fairly large area to have fun wheelin at? I'm going next weekend for the "surf n turf" toyota off road dealio, should be good times about 400 vechicles lined up so far. Anyone else gonna be there?

    Pismo's great.

Its big enough to have fun, but nothing remotely the scope of Glamis.

Great beach scenery and the thrill each trip of potentially getting stuck on the soft sand or crossing the "river".

Take a series of tow straps- and order a set of staun tire deflators before you go. and use em before or right after you hot the sand

as fun as it seems running along the beach keep your vehicle out of the water or you'll be chasing spot rust for the rest of the time you own it....

Did it years ago with the CJ-7. Air down, pay attention to your surroundings. Make sure you have a flag. The terrain changes by the hour, because the wind can blow something fierce, but dies down at night. If you get stuck in a bowl, keep going in circles until you reach the rim. If you tent it, collapse the tent while you're away. Found mine destroyed, several hundred yards inland with my tool kit and belongings inside, the shell was swiss cheese after that trip. As stated above, stay out da water.
