Can't drive 55? We feel your pain. But 55 turns out to be a great number for Los Angeles, which opens its doors tomorrow for its 55th annual installment of the L.A. Boat Show, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Performance Boats (which has a booth at this year's exhibit) was on the scene for "Staging Day," and we snapped some photos of exhibitors setting up. Here's our exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Convention Center staging....

Thanks for all of the great pictures. What size is the silver and orange Domn8er in that picure? From that picture it looks like that boat has some very clean lines. That's not the 22' deck, is it?

I've seen that new version of the KMG Phantom 22' in person & it's beautiful, Kevin spared no expense when he built this one. Personally I think the open bow in that 22' will give a lot of people what there looking for, a smaller family oriented boat w/ performance & speed.

Dory's new Domn8er is a 22-foot deckboat with an 8'6" beam. This is a pretty interesting deckboat—virtually every inch is functional, with tons of storage space, room for 8 or more on board, and several power options that should make this thing a real hotrod. I'll be doing a video with Dory explaining all of the nuances; look for that in a day or two.

I really want that X -Flight but i also do the ocean and not sure how it would do out in the swells. Turn it side ways and bury a corner and it is gone.

Ahhhhh, brings back some good memories, and some not so good too, lol. The pleasures of towing boats to LA and sitting in staging waiting for everyone to get in and get settled. Sometimes in the rain too, made things miserable!

The rolling out of the carpet, hanging banners, setting up lights, fork lifts and cranes honking and beeping, the stress of watching our boats being lifted and placed on racks that we would roll into place for the booth. Sometimes so late at night, it was too late for dinner, time for breakfast (late nite-that was a bennie, being near big door=last in... but first out tho)! Wiping, waxing, polishing before the doors opened each morning!

I should not mention the ice chests with "the goods" that kept us motivated with our friends and customers!

    Thanks for bringing the show!
