Howard Hughes revolutionized the way drill bits are leased instead of purchased in the oilfield to this very day. I believe it was his Grandfather that started Hughes bits (We have a Hughes in the hole as I type!) HH, much like the modern day Bill Gates, marketed them differently by leasing instead of selling them.
That was what led to the building of his huge fortune.

Howard Hughes was the epitome of the successful american at it's most extreme; Although at times there were some holes in his logic, he created so much good in this country.....Truly sad that someone couldn't help him in the end.

Regret never going to see the Spruce Goose while it was in Long Beach ..... Hughes got it a few feet off the ground and never flew it again.
