The Lane Victory, a Victory class ship in LA is run by retired men. Had an opportunity to take a run around Catalina a few years back and tour the ship. Very impressive to see these guys doing the jobs they did as much younger men.

The one on the Sac River is PTF-26 (PTFs are Vietnam era with an Aluminum Hull and replaced the PTs). PTF 26 was the last PT styled boat ever made by the US military. I have a thread about it on here. Here is the link to that thread: http://www.performanceboats.com/pb-o...nto-river.html

Default Oh that is not quit true !

While in Key West, wondering around the docks i came across a fully restored PT boat WWW11! I forget the number on it, they also claimed it was the last one! I did take a ride in it around the aera and what a blast. We made a simulated torpedo run on a masted pirate ship out in a bay. They fired a cannon off at us and we ran LOL. Our torpedo tubes were empty! May be lucky for me - for the rum might have made me pull the trigger.
