Thumbs up How about another Street Party?

This time for us..."The working stiffs"...come show off your 30' or under, Vee, Cat, Flatty etc.
I have run some preliminary numbers for 1/3 DS size show and it looks like it could happen with a minimal registration fee of $40 (with goody bag), or less if I get enough sponsor interest, vendor 10 x10's to be $200. My thought is for a Friday or Saturday night in late September. yes this will be a charity event
    Give me your input please

    6/14....update (PB wipe down party?)
I have Idea that might be really simple
Have a Raft up at Steamboat or Run to Pirates cove during the day, and then meet up for dinner/boat show at the new "Wide Open Wings" (next to I-hop), the rear parking lot (where our swap meet is held) is huge and could easily hold 100 boats and trucks, and with several restaurants and bars surrounding that parking lot seems good for all, would be no problem to have vendors and beer garden their either, it's EASILY visible from H-95, lots of public parking surrounding it, seems to me like it might be the spot...

You need an option for us mear mortals who don't have a boat worthy of showing but would show up and partake in such a festival.

    mmmmm?

it might be better to attach your idea to an event... Absolute Poker Run? Monster Bash Poker Run? just a thought.

The problem myself and others have the most of the area car shows is they are mostly about 30's to 50's hor rods, period. That is fine, but this misses a huge marekt, the 60's-70's muscle cars. And being in Havasu how about a show for brittish cars?

If muscle cars were added to a "muscle boat" show, this might be a good blend? Nothing under 300HP stock for cars.

    Just airing some ideas.

it actually would be excellent timing to add cars/toys as there are no more official car shows on McCulloch anymore. "Run to the Sun" pulled out, and none of the other clubs can afford the costs (big nut now days) involved in shutting down McCulloch, that leaves the Unofficial Thursday night cruise-in, The Big Boys toys and Desert Storm as the only chance to see hardware on McCulloch.
Boats, Cars, Side by Sides and Mini boats they all seem to go together

I would like to see it as a stand alone event, you know, kind of like the way everyone heads to your house for Jack after a day of boating

I find it hard to believe that people would tow their boats from different states to just park them on the street. If you were to tie it I'n with a poker run it would make the trip more worth it. Just my 2 cents

I think this would be fun to have a run to. RD has the "Weeken de drinkin" why not have something for PB?

    NOTE:
I think I actually clicked to be a vendor but I was intending for a Saturday night deal.

Haven't been to the Desert Storm Street Party have you?

you would be SHOCKED!!! at the percentage of Desert Storm participants that do just that, some of them compete just for the Street Party Trophies and tow across the country to do it. some simply to advertise their product/boat.

think about as a car show, drive/tow-in hang out for a few hours or a day or two talk about cars, hit the awards ceremony and it's done. same deal here, why would I need a poker run or anything like that, Just come boating at Havasu for what ever weekend we zero in on, and when you pull of the lake in the afternoon, you got something cool to go do for the evening/night, makes it easy on you and easy on ME!!
