    Default Boat cover cleaning

My cover won't fit in one of those gigantic machines at the laundromat How do you guys clean your covers.. Mines filthy, as the Boat has to live outside. Hosing it off in the driveway doesn't seem to get it very clean.. Suggestions?
I'd agree with you, but then we would both be wrong

I'm caught in the same dilemna as well. My boat sits under the power line that feeds my house and birds like to hang out on that wire alot. My cover is pretty nasty!

Lay it out on the driveway, get on your hands and knees and scrub it with a scrub brush and laundry detergent or carpet cleaner. Then put it back on the boat to dry so it doesn't shrink.

In the future (since you leave it in a place where birds poo on it) put a grey tarp over the boat cover so it doesn't get trashed again. I know it looks kinda wack but its better then spending 3 hours scrubbing a boat cover in the future.

It'll go in the big commercial washer. Find the biggest front loader a the laundromat...the one that is like $6 for one load and shove it in there. Those front loaders are meant to be packed full; I had to really shove mine in there but it came out nice and clean. A lot easier than scrubbing my hand...and I agree on the big tarp. Got one of those this year and man it has made a huge difference

There's a cleaner next to the Legion and by the Eagles. She has been doing covers for years. Charges about $25.

I use the driveway method with a simple green solution and a scrub brush on a broom handle. Works great. Do NOT put your cover in any dryer. I let mine air dry right on the concrete. I would not do this in desert sun though, might shrink from the excessive heat (do at night).

I went through the same dilemma. I only have a 25 daytona, but did find a laundymat in San Diego that has washers and dryers that handle 8 loads at once. They are out there but you have to do a little online research.

Ding Ding! One first inspection it did not look like it would fit; the door was small and it it didnt look big enough inside. I layed the cover out, started at one end, and just kept feeding it in there like a long scarf trick and sure enough the whole thing went in with a little shoving. Your wife may not have realized that front loaders are meant to be packed in there

I went to a little one in Solvang but I guarantee you all the ones in Santa Maria will have at least 1 or 2 big commercial front loaders.
