    Default Thought for the day

    Cicero Marcus
    Tullius - 106-43 BC
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot
survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he
is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those
within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard
in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor,
he speaks in accents familiar to his victims and he wears their face and their
arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.
He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to
undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can
no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear."

I agree. The tea party's treasonous ways have been allowed to go on long enough.

Individual perspectives may vary but our children and grand children still will bear the burden of what has happened the last 4 years.

Oh I can tell you our problems weren't started a mere four years ago. They started about 30 years ago when some guy believed an economic plan of deficit spending would benefit our country. You might have heard this deficit spending plan called "Reaganomics." If you want to blame anyone for the debt our country has, blame the Gipper because he fooled people into believing deficit spending was sustainable.

He obviously is referring to the billionaire corporate fascists who are plotting a coup this Nov. . A vote against Romney is a vote for stopping what Tullius describes.

Read the book of Hosea when you have time, it’s not super long and having a good study bible would be helpful to understand the theme... The nation of Israel was UNFAITHFUL to Yahweh, they were up and down and up and down... When they obeyed Yahweh they prospered, when they fell away their society crumbled...

It’s amazing to me, actually it shouldn't amaze me, but people want to kick to the curb EVERYTHING we have learned from four to five thousand years of historical writings about the rise and fall of mankind...

The time period for Hosea is about 800 BC and is a really good study in something like the NIV Life Application Study Bible...

After that Josehpus writings will back up what you read about the rise and fall of Israel, his writings about Masada are very interesting...

    Bruce...
Pat Eason, the voice of reason...

The whole idea of deficit spending is good when the economy is slow with the understanding that when the economy recovers, it will stop and the debt incurred during the slow times will be paid down with increased taxes. When Bill was president, he did this. When the economy was booming under Reagan and Bush 43, they didn't do this, which was irresponsible. Reagan told people tax cuts would be forever sustainable, and they are not. Now anytime tax increases are mentioned, the righties get all upset, even though at times of econmic prosperity, tax increases are the responsible thing.
