Default A Well Deserved Standing Ovation!

Rep Mike Kelly out of PA received a well deserved standing ovation today in the House for his speech on cutting the red tape and Washington control , a non- partisan message that should be heard by everyone. He is asking for Washington to take the boot off of the business owner's chest. He calls them all out of touch and reminds them that this is a red white and blue issue not a red or blue issue! We need jobs for all Americans.

If they could only get the same sentiment in the Senate where the Democrats have blocked 15 job creating bills.

See! There are some that don't need to be removed from office. We just need hundreds more like him willing to stand up for what is right, follow the constitution and ignore politics as usual in Washington.

All house seats go up for re-election every 2 years. So yes.

Liberals don't understand. My friend gave up trying to make a simple buisness. 16 permits required and countless regulations to adhere too just for a cleaning buisness.

Since I'm dealing with a 7 year review with the NSF, I thought I'd rant about this kind of thing. A lot of cities and areas require NSF listing for equipment in restaurants. We pay thousands a year for this listing and are inspected quarterly with no warning.

For the 7 year review we had to send them a brand new unit to retest at their facility. We passed the bacteria testing no problem. But they have various "standards" that have to pass also. A couple of the funniest "action required" notices we got:

A drip pan they said was 1 piece and couldn't be cleaned. We pointed out that it was 2 pieces for that exact reason. Response: "Oh...". How they didn't notice it was 2 pieces I have no idea. We are still laughing at that one.

A gap in a "permanent seam". This was another head scratcher. We pointed out the "seam" they were referring to wasn't permanent and was a service access panel. Another response of "Oh...."

I have no idea where they find these idiots that are supposed to be specialists but have no idea what they are looking at. They also come up with their charges completely at random. Last year we had to change vendor's for one component. Well that vendor wasn't listed as "approved" (the material was) so we had to pay for the paperwork they had to do to list them as an alternate. Quoted $2,800. I emailed back asking why a simple paperwork submission was $2,800. I then got a revised quote for $600 with no actual answer or explanation. And it happens every single time. I don't know how many manufacturers call them on their pricing BS. They just pull out a random high number hoping someone will just pay the bill. Working on a new design for one product they actually quoted me 3 different amounts for the changes. $6,200. Then a month later when I asked again they quoted $2,600. Another month later I asked and got $4,100. At that point I finally asked why I was getting different prices for the same project and never got an answer.

I HATE dealing with these morons. And this is just 1 agency I have to deal with. The red tape and paying for basically nothing is outrageous. But the government requires us to do it.

There are millions and millions of people who collect a paycheck doing a worthless job. The government enables this. Simplyifying the tax code will get rid of a large portion of them. But then all the CPAs, tax lawyers and IRS agents will be looking for work. We woudln't want to get bad unemployment numbers so we can't reform it.

Point well taken however we have no choice but to elect those who we believe share a common interest. I don't doubt that they/we all don't have some self serving interest but this guy is a businessman. He owns a Chevrolet/Cadilac dealer along with a Hyundai/Kia. I doubt his message in the video provided was anything less than honest.

I'd take a businessman over a career politician anyday. He is serving his first term.

Sweet, our first response from someone who alligns themselves with the left and all it is is just smearing feces on the wall. Does it address the over-regulation issue? Nope.

You both have read numbererous posts by both zombie and CVX, so I take it you're just relaying personal experiences on the ingnorance of the average ungratefull, whiney, over paid/underworked, lazy ass TAXPAYER PAID employee. Please tell me NOTHING in any exprerience dealing with the morons is a surprise to either of you. I deal with the bastards on a daily basis now because of my job "reassignment" after retiring. Its depressing! The dislike for the idiots is rapidly growing to a hatered.

I'm not allowed to speculate on the decisions I've watched our customer make that may cost tax payers millions of dollars all because a single person didn't want their first "baby"(project) to die. Which would then look bad becuase then the project was all for nothing.
