    Default Political Shifts

Any thoughts on the political shifts taking place? Libertarians are pissed about RP at the RNC, Christian and Jewish Democrats are pissed at the DNC for removing God from the platform and changing the gay marriage verbage.

Libertarians and Christian Democrats will not assimilate obviously since the libertarians pull left on social issues. If Libertarians are fiscally conservative as they say, they will not assimilate with Democrats.

Ministers on the left are urging voters to NOT vote for Obama. The libertarians want to hold ground and make their voices heard, which sounds good, but we all realize the result of that action.

Will the Christian left stand with the right or sit this one out? What happens to these groups after the election? Neither one will stand alone and will be left choosing a side in my honest opinion.

    Any thoughts?

I'd guess 3rd party candidates get 2-3%, not necessarily because of Ron Paul. Protest votes.

Platform, shmatform. I don't see that as a factor. I'd guess lots of Jews back off Obama cuz of middle east policies, and maybe more cuz the econ. sucks.

How many people identify as Christian left? I'd guess barely enough to count, meaning not a factor.

People who are out of work and want to work are going to vote for Romney.
Peeps on the right who don't like Romney/GOP/Rinos will make a protest vote.
Peeps on the left unhappy with O simply will NOT show up to vote. Your wording is perfect, "sit this one out."
And what about women? Romney is so far behind with women? Don't women want jobs? Don't those women have husbands, brothers, and fathers who need work?

They are easily brainwashed by the msm and tv talkshows I guess. I don't watch all that fake stuff.

One can only hope. The difference is that Reagan didn't have to campaign against the news media the way Romney does. This is the worst I've every seen as far biased reporting.

You left out the ones that don't work and don't care to will vote for Ozero. Thats around 47 million last time I looked.

I think, but then I am not a women and maybe MS U. can straighten me out if I am worng, but I think as she says, too many women are watching the tube to see what it is they are suppose to be thinking. And as far as I can see with the womens vote as much as anytime in recent memory, its back to the right to choose. Lame ass TERRIBLE reason, because I personally think anything that happens there is going to be slow in the making. No one president is going to be able to over turn Roe V Wade. But the media preceived threat is huge against Romney. Probably due to him being religious.

Reagan, HW Bush, and W Bush were all pro life and zip squat really happened. Not much would to happen if the Pope was elected.

You're dead on! There is not a politician out there that will try to overturn RvW. They may sabre rattle, but the whole pro choice issue the democrats keep raising is to take women off the jobs subject.

When they interviewed women during the time of the conventions, they all said that they were not happy with Obama however they were afraid that Romney would take away their rights.

I don't really know what rights they were talking about and I think it was an opportune time to ask them. The majority were middle aged women who wouldn't even be seeking an abortion to begin with. In my opinion, they really don't even know what the so called rights that they would loose are.

Susan B Anthony was a Republican and women suffrage ended a decade ago so no worries, no one is going to stop you from voting.

Roe VS Wade has been legal since 73 and survived 5 Republican Presidents. Even IF 4 appointments are open in the next term, the senate has to approve the confirmations. No way is anyone going to get 4 ultra conservative bench seats filled! It isn't going to happen. In the absolute rarest possiblity that it did, RvsW gets overturned, as it should, and it goes back to the states. In that case, atleast 26 states, abortion would still be legal. The others, it would depend what the populace wanted and voted on. Same as the gay marriage thing. Leave it to the states, call it a civil union and let them vote on it.

The only thing the FAKE war on women that Democrats falsely fed to women, is about TAX PAYER funded abortion and birth control! HELLO Sandra Fluke the spokes person is 31 years old and still in college. Does anyone in their right mind ( not the black lady in the video for the phone )believe that you should get government paid birth control?

I turn that on my female friends and ask them if they think condoms and vascectomy's should be funded by tax dollars.

The truths are most women voters don't even need tax payer funded either, but if you make them think you do! WHAM! Hook , Line, Sinker!

Until facebook, the only people I really discussed politics with, were here in this forum. However, this election year, I have as many political friends on FB as I do real friends. 95% of my time on FB is related to politics. That said, there are a lot of conservative women out there!

I only subscribe to right leaning fb pages, where as lefties will troll righty pages and vice versa....I dont slum it with the left, so I cant really say how many women do and what they say or think. I only come across the lefty trolls when they come trolling in conservative circles

I have a friend that thinks I should under the pretense of opening other womens eyes however I find it hard to play nice with idiots. I've participated in enough political conversations that either come to a dead stop upon facts, drive bys, or being told FU.

A woman in the Obama campaign this past week said, Women dont care about the last 4 years, only the next 4! I found it offensive and think it would be insulting to look up to people who looked down upon me! They think their voter base is stupid, and I am afraid they are right on enough occassions. SAD!
