    Default Thanks Barack

Thanks to obamacare, the people working for Darden Restaurants are going to see a loss in hours. They are testing out the changes that will go into effect if and when obamacare is enacted with 500 employees. They will cut the employees back from 40 hours a week to 28 hours so the large employer does not have to offer health insurance of pay a 3000.00 fine, but wait, eveyone is going to be mandated to have insurance, so they loose 12 hours a week and will be forced to purchase insurance through an exchange or face a tax penatly!

In addition, the company said it offers health insurance to its 185,000 employees nationwide but many are on a limited-benefit plan which will be phased out under Obamacare

The upside, is more part time employees bringing down the U3 unemployment number. ( the theoretical number ) Unemployment - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Darden Restaurants Orlando: Darden Restaurants part-time employment system in Orlando at some Red Lobster, Olive Garden - Orlando Sentinel

This is just one of numerous stories we can find. Someone is going to pay for it. Cost is going up to the consumer, or hours are going away for employees.

Because its the right thing to do!!
Its as if its almost Biblical. No different with them. Its a religious belief, and Ozero is there messiah.
If it was up to his followers, the calanders would be changed to "before and after Ozero"

Christ's followers were willing to die rather than deny him. Wonder when the time comes if Ozero's followers will feel the same way. Or will most of them simply get shot trying to TAKE what the government use to take for them.

All the major grocers will have more "part time" emplloyees than full time. They were one the largest part time employers in the country. Great job for mothers of kids in school. No really bitching from the employee that were only looking for part time work. NOW, it will be common place, and the you'll see it spread to Home Dedump, and Lowes. More and more small independent restuarants and coffee shops, 7-11's and small convienence stores, most franchased food chains, and so on. They will HAVE to, to remain competitive. The libs just do not get business at all!!!!!!

The unions will SCREAM at the idea of the thousands of retail clerks getting cut to part time. Oh well. I ASSURE you, the companies will stick this one out and win. They have to just to survive.

shue, R&J, ram, H1986 and for sure CVX will all call it GREED. I call it SURVIVAL in the jungle.

Obama is trying to do to the entire American business what happened to GM. Bury it in overhead costs of unskilled people that DEPEND on the meager job they have, and put them on the unemplyment/under employment roster. Great job creating move.

I'm very curious what will happen to mine, but it's out of phase where signups are in May and goes into effect July 1.

I'm really not sure how it will effect the major grocery chains. When I was in Local 324, if we worked a minimum of 24 hours, our health insurace was covered in our union dues . This was before the lenghtly strike back in about 2003. In the most recent contract, I know costs were transferred to the employees for heathcare. It was one of the points they were going to strike over. I am not sure if they are exempt like some of the labor unions?

However, Albertsons is currently closing I believe 26 or 29 stores. I think Ralphs and Albertsons are having as hard of a time being competitive and keeping up with customer wants at reasonable prices due to the Union stranglehold as what they did to GM.

The stores that will be most impacted are Target, Walmart, Costco, Sams, Trader Joes, Henry's, Sprouts, Bristol Farms, etc , etc...... All the non union stores who will likely find themselves in the same position as Darden. I know that target offers a plan with a higher cost if you average a certain amount of hours per quarter. My sister works there. I know that she needs to be aware of not falling under the hours required to maintain it.

Yes the last go round with the unions was over health care cost and MORE if it was pushed off to the employee. Not ALL of, just more. I also believe, but don't hold be to this, health care benefits were pushed to 27 hrs from the previous 24. In all reseanable reality, the grocers won that the last one. The strikers won't be employed long enough to regain what they turned down initially.

Employees at places like Walmart and Target and smaller chain grocers are already feeling it. Its already a bone of contention. THEY will be the way the others will have to go, or fail. Not to say none of them will offer health insurance, but it will have a certain employee burden tied to it. They may get a group rate, but there will be a price to pay. Guaranteed.

I am going to laugh my ass off if the federal government employees find themselves in the same spot. Imagine CVX and R&J paying for their health care.

The part time employ thing will become the norm if Romney doesn't manage to get the bill repealed. When the entire system fails, I wonder how CVX and the others will explain that?

In many of the construction trades the premiums increases are being passed to the employee. As much as the unions HATE it, many are seeing notices with their checks that the deduction is due to the increases of health care due to Obamacare. The unions are furious about it.
The last wage increase our local saw as a wage increase was swallowed up and then some by the HC increase.
Wait till many of the labor contracts expire and the unions try to regain that increase as well as a wage increase. You're going to see a record number of strikes in this country between now and 2014 if Obamacare remains.
Just as CVX and R&J had hoped.
First strikes, then revolution. First one that can find the cave that CVX, R&J, or ram are hiding in gets a prize. You can BET they will be hiding!

There isn't a doubt in my mind that the unions THINK that Obamacare will drive more and more to join unions. What I don't think they invisioned, and what I think we will see is more and more employeers, specially large employeers of large chains, and owners of franchise chains going against the grain and figuring out ways to side step the bill thru things like prat time employees, or tossing more and more of the health care premium burden onto the employee. Buy it, because its the LAW that YOU voted for, or get fined. The federal government has put the burden of health care coverage in the lap of the employee and these dumbasses Ozero worshippers are too stupid to figure it out.

It WILL result in massive strikes thru the next few years, and as a REQUIREMENT to survival, the employeers will win, or die out. You watch. Like I said, WHEN it happens, not if, I wonder what the forum commies will have to say.
Of course it will sound something like greedy bastard employees. What it will REALLY be is freek'n socialist government intervention.

Private enterprise CANNOT survive in a socialistic environment, and the libbies are way too ignorant to see that. It can only lead to bottom up poverty. Which to CVX and R&J and the others, thats OK, so long as nobody has more than anybody else. Everybody having less is fine with them, so long as we are all equially in the shit house, and the government controls and supplies everything, no matter how little that everything is.

    Great idea dumbasses!

The ONLY thing that can stop is a congress with a few too many libs. They will all band together to save face for passing the illegal POS bill to begin with. They have no choice but to defend it to the end, or throw Obama under the bus as hands down, across the isle, worse POTUS in American history, and denounce the bill for what it really is. Pure SOCIALISM, and government run amuck.

My fondest wish is that IF it remains, the federal government has no choice but to put ALL government employees on Medicare coverage just to be able to supply the freeloaders any coverage at all.
I'd laugh my ass off at CVX and R&J paying for supplimental Medicare coverage. But ONLY if every congressman and senator is insured the same way!!!!!!

I always try to find the upside too!

In further dismal news, another CEO to his employees. CEO Threatens to Fire Employees If Obama Is Reelected and Raises Taxes | NewsBusters.org

My employee contribution went up in June for my health insurance and my boss warned of higher increases that are coming when Obamacare is enacted. I'm not sure how they will handle the employees that are not insured. I guess they will see a similiar reduction in hours just as the Darden group mentioned above.

Last week at an employer meeting for my husband, the owner touched on the impacts of another Obama term too. People won't be able to say that their employer didn't warn them if he does get another term.
