Default The divisions have to stop!

Face facts folks the Dem's have their crap together and the Rep's don't.
To many divisions on the Republican side and the Dem's have all theirs in line. This is the same reason every time we have a third party in an election it takes away votes from the republican party and not the democrats. Happened again last night. There was not a shot for these independents to win anything but a local election but yet Romney lost votes because of them. Would it have changed the election? Maybe or maybe not. Who knows now.
If it always comes down to a candidate is to far center or to far right will always divide the party means the Rep party is dieing at its own hands. The Obama campaign should have used the motto divide and conquer because thats just what they did. I've herd so many of my Rep friends over the last few months say things like, "guess I will have to vote for the less of two evils" is something you will never hear on the Dem's side.
IMHO, you all need to look who has a chance to win that is closest to what you believe and vote for them. Enough of this BS protest votes for a Libertarian that's running for president and is only on the ballet in two f_in states. Suck it up do whats better for the country.
The republican party needs to go back to its roots and be a party of the people. ie; I liked the Tea party at first until they got off track with their social ideas and that just killed them in the average Americans eyes. They had a good idea and then broke it by going in areas they should not have.
I'm a Reagan Republican. I'm not what the media paints me to be. Ya, have a few guns and yes I will put a bullet in your ass if you come to hurt us. I have every right to protect myself and in the middle of the night in my boxers I prefer something a little more powerful then a tennis racket. What is wrong with that? I also know my neighbor, a union democrat has 10 times what I do and he is at war with the rest of the neighborhood because he has the right to use the point off our boat ramp as hunting bird blind and does every year maybe 50 yards from the community playground. But yet as a Rep I'm labeled as the gun nut?
I like black people and have had many friends over the years. My theory has always been at work, if you can do the job and at home, you have the same morals I do then you are just people.
South of the boarder Americans are some of the most hard working and respectful people you will ever meet. I just want them to do it the legal way like everyone else had to in our history. All of a sudden we have to change it because we are flooded with illegals? And if not I'm a raciest? There is something wrong there. No other country has open boarders like that just for security reasons alone. Hell you need a passport to get into Canada (the 51st state). And again I'm labeled a Republican bigot by the Dem's and it sticks and yet again I know many more lets just say political incorrect folks on my block and they are all Dem's.
Why isn't everyone not concerned with taxes? The Rep party has to get out of this label and mode of taxes and the rich thing. The Dem's do it to the people the same way. They just repaint it and tell you its a new car and their followers eat it up. Why isn't a flat tax more of a political point in the Rep party? Everyone has skin in the game but again nothing but tax reform from the Reps which means middle class takes a beating for the greater good. Romney had good points about what Obama spent compared to the subsidies to the oil companies but then should have said they are on the table to be cut instead of being cornered into that home deductions (another kick in the balls to home owners, the rocks of any community) are what they were looking at. IMO that is why Romney lost right there.
Wall st ....... For all you Dem's out there, as much talk there was about Wall st and Obama at war, you were lied to. I follow the market a lot. Wall st loves Obama but yet Romney was the fat cat Wall streeter. A Mormon preacher instead of the big city pollution got that label.
Polluting the environment, Ya, I'm a boater, love to cruse in sewage all day or have the one life I do have shortened because of poison air but Rep's are again labeled as dirty water dirty air people.
    And the list goes on.
If we don't get everyone under one roof it's the end of this party and I think it will be time to move on.
A winner is just a loser that got up and did it one more time.

Trust me, the democrats don't have all their ducks in a row, just look at the year they held a super majority in Congress. I'm sure you will agree a certain percentage of the population will vote D, and a certain percentage will vote R, no matter who the people they are voting for are. There are a lot more Ds than Rs, and that disparity is only going to increase, so the Rs already are fighting a sizable disadvantage. So the Rs have to win the vote of the people that won't automatically follow the D party line if they want to win.

The problem is a couple things:
    1) Economic Policy. Contrary to what fans of trickle down want to believe, it really is nothing more than voodoo economics, and history has shown this. A lot of people can see this even though many Rs are still in denial. Romney said he wanted to cut taxes. Obama claimed it was $5 trillion over 10 years which you could make the argument was a little exagerated, but it was basically what economists could reasonably project with what Romney was saying. And then according to Obama, Romney wanted to increase defense spending. Now Romney really didn't want to increase defense spending, but he did want to eliminate the projected reductions to defense spending Obama was trying to implement, so in effect, Romney's plan was going to cost more. And then Romney wanted to make cuts to social programs that many Americans do benefit from. So, Romney said he was going to not cut defense spending, cut social spending, and cut taxes, and that was going to reduce the deficit. Look, I agree the American people can be dumb, but they're not that dumb.

    2) To win the R nomination, you have to go so far to the right, that when you shift back to the center for the general election, you lose credibility. No one knew where Romney stood, was he moderate Mitt from Massachusetts, or was he the embodiment of the far right? So he was trying to get people to trust him, even though they didn't know where he stood. Reagan didn't have that problem, love him or hate him, you knew where he stood. So for many it came down to voting for the evit they knew, which wasn't really that bad, or for the evil they didn't know. The majority of America picked the evil they knew over the scary unknown.

Trickle up economics doesn't work. You'll see how trickle down works with this administration. It works in reverse as well. You raise taxes and costs and it'll trickle down to you and I.

Maybe not everyone is a Republican or Democrat?

Maybe just maybe a third party exists because some of us dont buy into....

    1. The Democrats taking my money and handing it out to to everyone but me.

    2. The Republicans taking my money and giving it to their business buddies.

Neither deserves my vote and neither will get it until they become more responsible with what they get from me.

This is what I've told my son since he was young. The difference between the two is that I've never gotten a job from a poor person.

That is a great quote, UD! Also, Rams #2 point is exactly right, and I want to make this clear, I don't have an answer to how to solve this problem.

I wish that Perot had won before...It would have slapped BOTH parties in the face-"WE(the voters) are the ones you need to listen to!"

I personally think that all pols need Term limits, no Retirement at all, and, in this High-tech society we live in, our reps should stay in their respective districts, personally deal with their constituants, and vote electronically.....No more living in the "DC" country club.....You know that today they were all buying each other beers and laughing about the "Silly" things they promised the voters.

That Sir is the correct and proper concern, "but how do we achieve this?" is the appropriate question....

You go out and do whats best for you and your family. Try and prosper and enjoy life. There are many ways to get around just about anything. Its no big surprise that tax revenues have dramatically fallen, i've never seen so much cash change hands for goods and services in my life.

Damn...That's a few that you and I agree on!!! Well, with the exception of Ram's # 2 because he left out how far left the dems have to go for election to get the ultra liberal and green party. Unfortunately, sometimes neither come back to the center.

I have always believed in term limits. I also believe that all laws that pertain to us should not contain and exemption for them.

It had to happen some time.......

To add to laws applying to them, I don't think that Lawyers should be allowed to run for congress....It is a conflict of interest......They make laws for themselves- remember when you only needed a lawyer for capital crimes......soon, you'll need a lawyer to handle a parking ticket!

Here's one for you; What do Zombies feed on?.....Brains, right? Put a zombie in congress and he'd starve!

Its simple. if the republican candidate is going to lie, then he needs to change the lie. Romney needed to out lie Obama on the "free stuff". He needed to tell the free loaders he was going to drag the wealthy into the pit of hell, strip them of everything they every made, and hand it to the bottom of the food chain.

AND THEN NOT DO ANY OF IT! Then blame Obama!

If your going to lie. Lie to your benefit, and lie big!

This is coming from freedom works.

I disagree with the OP on the Tea Party perception. BTW, we can thank a tea party member in Murrieta for all of her hard work to get N on the ballot and for getting our the message for YES on N. Red light cameras are now banned in Murrieta .
