Default Hope and despair is how I feel.

These words have meaning to me.

“A democracy is always temporary in nature: it simple cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority will always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship.”
Does this sound familiar? With almost one-third of all Americans feeding at the public trough, its only a matter of time before everyone receives some form of benefit and henceforth, the entire country will crash and burn with most likely a military dictatorship filling the void.

    Downfall of Democracies

Here is where I see hope.

My final thought are these words shared by Allen West last night.

The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it NOW deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." - Will you continue to fight or will you be a sunshine patriot? The Choice is up to you.

PS. I think its interesting that some of you climbed out from under your rocks to gloat.

I respect R&J for always standing for what he believes in even though I rarely agree with them. I know its well intended.

Everyone else here gloating today, remind me of the typical selfish voter on the left. Refer to top of page.

It's a good thing we are a COnstitutional Republic and not a Democracy...

Hang in there my friend, you will feel a little better in a few days... I'm feeling the same way right now, I can totally relate...

It's comforting to know that I am in good company.

Pretty amazing break down of the true voting populous and to think, it takes all that red to pay for those scattered spots of blue. I feel the same pain and despair that you feel. Not for myself per se but for my kids and future grand kids. I truly worry for their future and wonder if they will have any chance in life as this socialist train rolls on. Our nation is transforming before our eyes and not in a good way for sure. I often think at some point the division will take really take over with states succeeding from the union (north and south revisited) type of scenario. Would be quite the sight to see huh, Republicans in one half of the country and libby Dems in the other. Wonder which half would make it and which one would turn into complete anarchy?
