Default Stocks edge higher; Dow boosted by McDonald's

NEW YORK (AP) - Stocks edged higher Monday on Wall Street after a strong sales report from McDonald's offset concerns about the surprise resignation of Italy's prime minister.

I don't get it anymore, or why McDonalds shares are almost $90.

Got a couple thousand you'd like to bet that Mickey D's is THEE number one place that EBT cards are used????
Not gorcery stores, but McD's. 7-11 is probably close 2nd but they aren't national.
Hands down, I can guarantee you that in Calif, between 7-11 and McDs together, they out sell all other retailers combined for EBT card transactions. Not even close.

McD's not on the list...food chains, costco, drug outlets, independent grocery, 99c type outlets...

Mc Ds fell off the list with the introduction of the NEW SNAP cards. Supplementary Nutrition Assistance Program. WTF. Obama hard at work creating new ways to throw away taxpayers money on useless POS that eat at McDs and Taco Bell. They will even accept them at 7-11 for fountain drinks and pizza. Are you fucking kidding me. What happened to milk, eggs and bread ONLY!!!

Freek'n druggies buying Coke and pizza, Big Macs and fries. Great program you commie bastards have going there shue. Just adding to the voter base with any methods you know.

Thats strange because I see signs in front of Burger King and jack in the Box saying they accept EBT. I would think McDonalds would as well.

Fast food restaurants were not allowed to accept food stamps until very recently. It was around spring of this year that McdDonalds was accepted into the program. They were among the last to apply.

And... did you know that it is illegal to charge sales tax, or any fees to an EBT card. MAkes sense I guess, since it our tax dollars anyway.

Have you seen the price of milk and veggies and other stuff? Actually those 79 cent tacos from Taco Smell is one of the cheapest ways to eat. Problem is how bad they are for you.

I think the only cheaper way to eat is if you lived off limes. Why are those things only 5 cents? Not that I'm complaining, I go through a ton of them with fajitas, vodka tonics, water etc. I put them in all sorts of stuff.

When I got paid I could splurge and get Cup O Noodles.

Really? Not doubting you, but I was led to believe that you couldn't buy "ready to eat" food/meals... like from a restaurant. That may be just here.

Wow!!! Which liberal extremist on here was bitching about companies scarfing up funding for military projects? Instead we have a fast food giant, and an unhealthy one at that, doing the same thing.

And I kinda like me a bowl of ramen noodles every once and a while. Every day is too much!

Actually EBT cards are the only thing accepted at McDs and Burger King etc. was jerking that smartass shue;s chain with SNAP card BS.
7-11s and other "convenience" stores do accept SNAP cards for pizza, chicken strips and fountain drinks and other crap however, because they are setup to accept them. The SNAP is really just another feable attempt to get those on assistance to buy the proper foods. Not sure the stores are suppose to be accepting SNAP cards for pizza and sodas, but they do.
Any fat free "food" qualifies as well. Any of the "snack foods" and candies labeled as "fat free food" are approved. Baked Lays potato chips, and bagged pop corn for example.

The whole system is a farse.
