Default What can we or should we be doing?

Some time last year I stopped watching and listening to any news that is meant to fire up the base. Hell I am already fired up so I don't need anyone working me up more. I try to stay as educated on the issues as I can and make decisions based on facts and results. In other words it may piss me off that O is playing golf but if the country was doing alright do I really care?

Seriously where do we go from here? I have never seen us so divided and frankly it scares me a bit. On election night I made note of all the states that voted way left, those that voted some left and those that voted right. I made a promise to myself to do my best not to spend a dime in the left states. I have gone as far as looking at my drive from Boise to Needles a few times a year. I can go through Utah and avoid buying gas in NV or CA.It will take me longer but I might feel better about it. Am I being unrealistic? Hell I don't know but I know I have to put my money where my mouth is.

I have tried and tried to put myself in the mind set of a liberal and I cant do it! For the life of me why anyone would think that this path is good for our country must be insane, or has a personal agenda and not looking out for the whole. I was raised by a blue collar dad who worked part time in the union and he is and always has been a republican. I try so hard to tell young kids today that everything has moved so far to the left its crazy. Today John Kennedy would be considered a republican.

I am sorry for the rant but I am looking for some direction and not more information to fire me up! What can we do to help get our country back on track?

Based on who is reproducing and who is not out of my high school class (7.5 years ago) there is nothing we can do. We are doomed.

That is where I am. WHAT can I do? I live in IL. I have a beautiful piece of land. Lake, woods, pasture. Actually my dream property. I cannot retire here.
We have an awesome boat race in Ohio. I don't know if I will go back. IF I do, I will bring as much soda, beer, food, etc so as not to spend much money there. I live on the MO border. I buy goods and fuel there as much as possible.
I stay informed (to my own peril I think). Being ignorant is so much easier.
All I can do is what I have been doing. Tell as many people as will listen what is really going on.
Those that refuse to hear the truth... well, just pass on them. When they come knocking at your door tell them to call the govt. for help.
I am open to suggestions... but I think that is about all one person can do.

Number one is to call your rep' and make it known that they better listen to their constituants, not special interests....Also, never ever believe one source of info, because both parties are spinning like neutron stars(Look it up!). ANy source CAN be compromised.

Personally, I think the best possible thing would be if the Tea Party and the 99%(the real ones, not the damn anarchists!) would get together and agree on one thing- All incumbents out! Even get 30% of them gone in one election and they'd start listening!

Keep the dialogue open. Keep discussing these issues as openly as possible. Keep talking about it, and things will develope. Decisions will be made, actions will come about, those of us who have the abillity will respond. To what? To whom? No one knows at this point, but we know one thing for sure. The old America is no longer something to "save" or "turn around". It's as good as gone, and we are living historical times and changes. SOMETHING will come out of all this. What comes from all this, I think, is up to us so let's keep talking. Lets keep discussiing. We'll figure it out.
First action I'm taking is leaving CA and going where I can be with like-minded individuals in a state that more represents my ideals and values. There, hopefully, I can find more ways to do something constructive.

Every one of my adult kids got lots of food storage items from us for Christmas. They have to purchase their own ammo. Those two will be vital in the coming days - sooner than later.

Today, our local Fry's Foods ran completely out of milk. As soon as they started running low and it was mentioned, folks ran for the cooler and took everything left in minutes.
The best things in life aren't things!
