Nice drama Doc. I'm not a fan of term limits EXCEPT for the presidency. This guy is likely just looking for a little attention.

The problem with term limits is that it removes accountability and long-term focus on our Nation's direction. If an individual is not performing then vote them out. Term limits, although easy, are not the answer.

You all do know that the ONLY difference between socialism and communism is a dictator right?

I wonder if his constituents saw that coming.

So you are OK with a career politician? I think it's just the opposite: The problem with no term limits is it encourages corruption, back room deals, and doesn't focus on our nation's direction. To add to that it keeps new ideas at bay, and that is wrong!

Well, I think Mao, Choucescu (sp), etc would agree with you.

Attention? Is that like 'Hey, look at me, I am busy at wasting foking time"?

Removes accountability? I don't think there is a job on the planet where the sale of bullshit is an actual job requirement and the applicant who owes the most favors always wins.

Definition of a carrier politician is a person who has held a government job for so long he is unsuitable for employment in the private sector.

You being so sure term limits are not the answer tells me that it is the best answer but getting the law passed is about as likely, but necessary, as congress voting themselves a cut in pay.

    Exhibit A, Harry Reid.

People ask "how can he get elected?"
Simple. He has been there so long the voters only know his name, and figure he is the "normal" guy to vote for. This voter apathy is not Reid's fault, it it his weapon. Reid is only one example, but a good example. He can do whatever he wants and the handful of constituents that actually try to hold him to task have no influence.

Not to nit pick, and not that I'm a fan of any politician no matter what party they belong to, but the founding fathers didn't write the 22nd amendment. Personally, IMO, all politicians, Rs and Ds should be hung for treason; they don't represent the people, they only represent their own personal interests and the interests of whomever has the fattest wallet.
