Default Nancy Pelosi begs us not to ruin her dignity by cutting her paycheck

*warning, horrific pic of a wrinkled old **nt in link*

Nancy Pelosi says cutting Congress' pay undermines dignity of job

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is speaking out against a cut in congressional pay because she says it will undermine the dignity of their positions. "I think we should respect the work we do," Pelosi said. "I think it's necessary for us to have the dignity of the job that we have rewarded." ("Dignity" is apparently a synonym for "fat paycheck.") Pelosi, whose husband, Paul, is a legit real-estate mogul, was quick to add that slicing her own paycheck wouldn’t "mean as much" as those senators who struggle to make ends meet on $174,000 per year. "We are obviously contemplating a sequester," Maryland Rep. Steny Hoyer (D) said. "Obviously we are going to take a cut, like everybody else."

These elite politicians are so out of touch it gives me a massive headache.

I wish I was struggling to make ends meet on anything remotely close to 174K a year.

I just wish I could keep what I earn so I can pay back the loans that allowed me to make what I earn.

I'm thinkin more like an A$$ache. It'd be tuff but I think I could squeeze by on 174.

Question: The penny she's holding is that the paycut she's bitching about, She should still be ok with $173,999.99

First of all, that bitch is whining to get the sequestration put aside or delayed. Kick the can down the road one more time.

THE HOUSE AND SENATE ARE EXEMPT. DUH! Ever know them not to be. The sequestration is loaded with pain for you and me at the state, coutnry and city level. They will cut the shit out of federal "assistence or subsidies" to things like schools, fire and police departments. Money they should even have power over and money they have no business distributing. This "re-distribution" of money for things like that is realitvely new in comparison to years income tax as been in effect. Every year they grab more and more money for re-distribution to lesser financed states and less and less to those that paid the money. No different than the schools and public services money from the state. When I went to school, the state had virtually no funds for schools and fire/police departments. It all came from the city's property and sales taxes. Now that money goes to the state and is "re-dsitributed" to less fortunate cites filled with "entitlests" that are living off the taxpayers in everyway. Including schools and services provided, ala the state. Feds tool it to a new level. Its thievery if the highest order.

But don't let this snake kid you about her pay check. Thats a smoke screen. The very intent of the sequestration is to cause as much pain as possible to the tax payer, that they will cave and let them continue business as usual. They couldn't do that if WE had the money still, in our community where it belongs. The founding fathers knew this, but the dimbulb politicians managed to wrestle that away and USE it, with the vote of the average ignorant dimbulb voter, against the taxpayers and too their benefit. Its been giong on for decades, and its going to get worse. We much play along, or suffer for it.

Of course, shue work will probably take a hit, and R&Js check is as good as cut, if he is furloughed altogether at some point.

Show me a congressman or senator, and I'll show you a person who has zero "Dignity".......They are all deserving of- no, not a pay cut, but a simple firing.
Believe this, after the election, they all went to parties and bars and such, and bought each other drinks while saying, "No hard feelings, it was just the election, I'll watch your back if you watch mine".....
Remember, during the Clinton era shut down, Tommy Delay told a reporter when asked why he should be payed while everyone else in Govt shouldn't, "MY pay is in the constitution, the workers will get payed when I say so!" Arrogant, dishonest prick!

Term limits, No retirement, and they stay in their district and vote electronicly....How about taking care of the people who voted you azzes in, rather than padding you pocket while playing with lobbiests.

    1) "I AM the federal government." –Tom DeLay, to the owner of Ruth's Chris Steak House, after being told to put out his cigar because of federal government regulations banning smoking in the building, May 14, 2003 (Source)

    2) "So many minority youths had volunteered…that there was literally no room for patriotic folks like myself." --Tom DeLay, explaining at the 1988 GOP convention why he and vice presidential nominee Dan Quayle did not fight in the Vietnam War (Source)

    3) "Now tell me the truth boys, is this kind of fun?" –Tom Delay, to three young hurricane evacuees from New Orleans at the Astrodome in Houston, Sept. 9, 2005 (Source)

    4) "We're no longer a superpower. We're a super-duper power." –Tom DeLay, explaining why America must topple Saddam Hussein in 2002 interview with Fox News (Source)

    5) "Nothing is more important in the face of a war than cutting taxes." –Tom DeLay, March 12, 2003 (Source)

    6) "Guns have little or nothing to do with juvenile violence. The causes of youth violence are working parents who put their kids into daycare, the teaching of evolution in the schools, and working mothers who take birth control pills." –Tom DeLay, on causes of the Columbine High School massacre, 1999 (Source)

    7) "A woman can take care of the family. It takes a man to provide structure. To provide stability. Not that a woman can't provide stability, I'm not saying that... It does take a father, though." -Tom DeLay, in a radio interview, Feb. 10, 2004 (Source)

    8) "I don't believe there is a separation of church and state. I think the Constitution is very clear. The only separation is that there will not be a government church." –Tom DeLay (Source)

    9) "Emotional appeals about working families trying to get by on $4.25 an hour [the minimum wage in 1996] are hard to resist. Fortunately, such families do not exist." –Tom DeLay, during a debate in Congress on increasing the minimum wage, April 23, 1996 (Source)

    10) "I am not a federal employee. I am a constitutional officer. My job is the Constitution of the United States, I am not a government employee. I am in the Constitution." –Tom DeLay, in a CNN interview, Dec. 19, 1995 (Source)

This all I could find on Tommy; I know what I read, and not from just one source because it was so blatantly ridiculous. What I am saying is basically, anyone up there is corrupted by the power, no matter which side of the aisle they are on. If you start reading about Tommy, you will find him to be the most extreme case of power corrupting absolutely, and there are plenty of leftys(Like Nannie) that should be forced to live on the street in a box, or better yet, thrown in jail, although the though of paying any of these creatures any more taxpayer money is revolting.

Doc, what are you trying to do? Prove my point by showing another worthless rep? Thanks!

Here's a question; Do you really think that YOUR reps are all un-corrupted and "Inteligent"?
I am doing what the Father of MY Country told me to do; I am a registered independent....Whereas, I suspect that you have joined on the bandwagon to destroy what George Washington and his fellow patriots wrought.

Another question; What is more important to you? The Party, or the country? Are you like the whites or blacks down in the old south that would give a murderer a pass because he's "One of us"? Or like the Catholics that let the child molesters go on because he's a "Man of God"? Where does your party affiliation stop and real justice prevail?

I'm not sure if I understand where you are going with this. Not attacking you personally, just trying to get a better grasp on your train of thought and your belief system.

You have to admit that Hanks' dialogue is one the most ignorant comments ever made and recorded. Quit paying this ignorant son of a bitch to represent even one citizen.

Get off the religious and racial pulpit for now.
Yes over our lifetime alone there has been much social injustice. We cannot un do the atrocities from the past but we can damn sure make an effort to ensure that those injustices may not happen in the future. How soon that can happen? I will not attempt to predict, but I can damn well guarantee it will continue and only get worse as long as our socialist politicians continue to perpetuate a welfare society.

You DO NOT want to support the path that this administration is trying to lead this great nation. Oppressive governance has never produced positive results.
Just so you know why I am so adamant about this subject:

On my mothers side of the family, Epke Jacobs Banta fled Spain to seek refuge in the Netherlands during the Spanish Inquisition. He was Jewish. He eventually came to the United States in 1650 to start a new life for his family. My fathers' mother and father fled Bohemia, Czechoslovakia, prior to WW I. My father was born in America as well as my mother. I cherish my ancestors and their strife for freedom and I will always defend the Constitution of the United States.
My girlfriend was born in Germany and recently gained US citizenship (dual Germany/US)
If anyone has questions about Socialism and its' downfalls, give us a call and get an ear full from the German NICU nurse. Feel free to call.
This post was not meant to offend.
