Default Obama Forever! N. Y. congressman introduces bill to abolish presidential term limits

Are any of us really surprised.

New York Democratic Rep. Jose Serrano reintroduced a bill in Congress on Friday to repeal the 22nd Amendment, which places term limits on the U.S. presidency. The bill, which has been referred to committee, would allow Barack President Obama to become the first president since Franklin Roosevelt to seek a third term in office. H.J. Res. 15 proposes “an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.”

Not the first time nor will be the last time it's proposed.

Getting it ratified by 2/3s of the states is a whole other matter. Never happen.

If for some reason it is fulfillment of Bible Prophecy, nothing anyone can do about it.

If not boot his ass out and any congressman that votes for it.

It isn't like Congress has anything better to do since things are just so peachy these days.

Exactly. This isn't some bill that congress can pass, its a constitutional amendment. Even if could happen, it will never happen while Obama is in office. The process just takes too long

Like Boss and the post state, this is nothing new, The post clearly states RE introduced. It was introduced under Reagan an Clinton, and others before them.

Even if it did pass ratification, amendments never seem to apply to sitting POTUS or congress. Always the NEXT. Harry Truman was the sitting POTUS when the 22nd was ratified, and yet he was still able to run for office again had he chosen to. He didn't. Bess threatened him with divorce. She'd had enough of Washington.
