Appears that Putin is in charge of the world.....our guy, total loser who played "spades" with the help as soldiers were
going after Osama Bin Laden, and also absent during Benghazi

yeah I was just totaly taken aback by the blatant manipulation of the US information market by Time magazine. On one cover is
how "waffling" and weak America is...yet on the other they cut us out of the conversation by giving us a fucking college football discussion.

Even time magazine sees us as sheep

Are they covering up for him with the two covers or simply giving their readers what they want. Do most Americans really care more about politics than Football? If they do then why don't more bars have C SPAN or other political channels on all the time? For that matter, why can't we get more than 62 or so percent to vote?

What percentage of Americans do you think follow football either adamantly or at least casually? What percent follows politics? We know they don't have to follow politics or even have a clue to vote; the last election proves that.

Nope I'm just stating what a sad state of reality our country is in. Don't blame the messenger and don't blame the magazine for wanting to make a profit by giving the public what the majority wants.

Are you really sure that's what the people want? I've seen no polls. Or maybe Time would rather fall in line with you guys too.

I'm sure Time has research on what the majority of their readers want to see. Why not put the same cover on European magazines? Because the cover they printed in Europe will sell magazines in Europe just like the American cover will help circulation here in our country. The DC politics v.s. Putin's desires story is in the US version. It just isn't front page center. It is probably much tamer than the European version as well, but the story is still covered. The football story is just bigger news here in the US. Why is that hard to believe right after the start of football season. And especially when they are talking about paying college football players. Most big time colleges have a graft system which funnels money to the star players anyway, so why not just pay them.

Ya know, I wasn't going to bother a reply Snoc, but I guess maybe one. You seem to feel you know what everyone's motives are, but the rest of us aren't capable of seeing the trees for the forest.

This is Time magazine not S.I. To put Putin on the cover of their magazine all over the world, but put a college football player on the US edition with a rhetorical question isn't "giving the people what they want", it's trying to manipulate public opinion and advance an agenda. I know everyone I talk to keeps asking me, "Don't you agree college football players should be paid?" I know it's the most important thought in my mind

Maybe if our own media reported half as accuratly about Obama as the rest of the worlds media does, more people would be interested in politics and the fate of our country. But sadly, they just keep treating the American sheeple like mushrooms and feeding them a steady diet of distract and deflect. If the rolls were reversed and we had a republican president in office with the same track record for the last 4+ years as Obama, history tells us his abysmal record would be all we were allowed to read about, or watch on the nightly news.

So where's the outrage? Since nobody in the MSM is reporting how poorly Obama is handling...EVERYTHING, there is none. No nightly Cindy Sheehan updates , no Hollywood hypocrites calling the president a liar, no Sunday shows telling us how our stupid, cowboy president is ruining our geo political credibility. This media bias has been so well documented you can't possibly believe the crap you wrote.
Or your just playing the troll and looking to engage in another "critical thinking" excercise so you can try and make yourself out to be the smart guy in the room? Either way I'll believe my way, and you believe what ever you want.

OK, how many covers does Time magazine normally use? Is this some new trick that they used just to dupe the American public? I think there are like 4 major markets for time. The US market is usually the one with the major difference on the cover, but most major stories are carried in all the editions. At least the stories are carried to some degree.

So this isn't a new trend. It is business as usual. And isn't free trade what all the conservatives keep harping on? So when a business does something that will promote their circulation and in turn generate more revenue, we want to criticize them for the initiative? The American culture is very diverse from the rest of the world culture in regards to what they want and what they expect. A smart magazine gives the people what they want, pretty much how they want it (read that they give the people buying their magazine what they want, how they want it). Do you normally read Time? It would seem that if you did, you would know that this is not a new practice. The fact that someone points it out and now all the right wing sheeple are up in arms is kinda funny actually.

And you asked where the outrage is, I want to know why be suddenly outraged? Because someone told you to be so?
