Default GOP - Power in the money, money in the power, minute after minute, hour after hour...

Gas tax, infrastructure funding puts some daylight between GOP House, Senate leaders | Fox News

Neither will ever let an opportunity to grow Federal Government go to waste.

I would not change the tax rate but find other sources of funds. For example I would eliminate any tax credits for hybrid and electric vehicles and use that money for infrastructure projects. Furthermore I would increase the annual registration fees for said vehicles since they are using the roads the same as anyone else but not paying the fair share on the costs of those roads and bridges. And then there are the welfare free loaders that's a story in itself. Get their asses out there to do some road work as a condition of receiving someone else's money.

    That's my 2 cents!

How about we take $20 a month from every person collecting welfare and foodstamps.. It will be tough, they won't get the newest Xbox game every month.
50 million people x$20 every month is a healthy amount!!!!

it's not rocket science, you just gotta make entitlements not lucrative like now!!!!!

Four GOP Senators discuss the possibility of raising the gas tax and you label the entire GOP with; "Power in the money, money in the power, minute after minute, hour after hour..."

If this link is not in error, please enlighten us on how you reached these conclusions from its' contents.... Am I missing something?

Well, in light if Obama's mandatory mileage restrictions on vehicles, more people driving ultra high mileage shit boxes, what do you expect. Not to mention the businesses that have given up here to go over seas because of exorbitant EPA restrictions, high taxes, and a hostile business environment. The money has to come from somewhere. Hope everyone's enjoying this "hope and change".

You got that shit right! Welfare shouldn't be such a great place to be. The EBT card should be replace by a sack of beans, a sack of rice, flour, eggs, chicken. No processed foods or even items like steak. Damn parasites!

Based on Boehner's comments it sounds like he would be completely willing to vote for an increase the gas tax.

However, House Speaker John Boehner suggested Thursday that getting a gas-tax increase passed in the now-Republican-controlled House and Senate seems unlikely.
“When the Democrats had total control of the Congress they couldn't find the votes,” he told reporters. “It's doubtful the votes are here to raise the gas tax again. … I’ve never voted to raise the gas tax. We'll have to work our way through it.
But at least four Senate Republicans -- Bob Corker, Tenn.; James Inhofe, Okla.; Orrin Hatch, Utah; and John Thune, S.D. -- appear open to the idea of increasing the tax.
Last week, Thune, the third-ranking Senate Republican, told “Fox News Sunday” that he didn’t “favor increasing any tax, but I think we have to look at all of the option.”
Code for, "We want more revenue and we're going to get it. It may not be directly on the consumer and it may not be a tax."

They are probably looking for something like the carbon fee that just put on refineries starting in 2015 in the State of California. In the end, the consumer still pays and they can claim a gallon of gas doesn't have a increase in the tax amount.
