Angry Senate Dems block anti-sanctuary city bill

Can ANYONE PLEASE tell me the "insane" logic as to why tax payers should continue to fund and support Sanctuary Cities who harbor, protect, and release murderers, thugs, and criminals. I thought one of the Government responsibilities was to protect the general welfare.
How can ANY Senator vote to allow this insanity to continue?

No doubt, these Dem Senators are showing their true colors and their total disregard for the welfare of our citizens.
How can any citizen VOTE to re-elect these lawless politicians who are placing our families in danger and are SUPPORTING and encouraging this insanity to continue?
Are we as a Nation really this stupid?

Story below (with "smiley" editorial) :
Senate Dems block anti-sanctuary city bill

Number of sanctuary cities in the US rises to 340

Senate Democrats on Tuesday blocked a Republican-backed bill that would crack down on so-called sanctuary cities by threatening to withhold funds to local governments that don't cooperate with federal immigration officials.

The bill failed on a 54-45 vote. It needed 60 to advance.

The Stop Sanctuary Cities Act became a lightning rod issue ahead of the vote, as GOP sponsors tried to peel off just a few Democrats to support it while Democratic leaders blasted the legislation as counterproductive. The White House issued a formal veto threat Tuesday morning, while the chamber's top Democrat tried to discredit the measure by calling it "The Donald Trump Act."

But GOP backers cast the legislation as a critical first step toward reining in the exploding, and risky, practice of cities and counties ignoring federal immigration law.

"Sanctuary cities and the associated violent crimes by illegal immigrants are reaching a critical point, and we cannot wait any longer to take action to protect Americans here at home," sponsor Sen. David Vitter, R-La., said in a statement.

Over a hundred years ago, there were a number of cities and states that also set out to defy and ignore the Federal laws because they felt they were unfair and adversely effected their way of life. Later on these states became know as the Confederate States of America. In regards to the constitutional legality of these situations....What is the difference?

Even though it's a good law, and most democrats agree with it, they're afraid of the Hispanic lobby. Any laws that would prosecute any illegal is off limits to them. They know it's the right thing to do.

Truth is the Hispanic lobby is mostly illegals who don't vote. You talk with Mexican immigrants that have become citizens and their early 20's children, you discover they are against the illegals!

They just look big. True they have money. But the reality is they don't have much bite. They just want more cream to suck from taxpayers.

I owned an apple/pear/cherry orchard, employed 30 to 40 Mexicans. I know all kinds, legal, illegal, etc. and their families. The illegals want more free stuff.
