Default Debate on Legalizing Pot in Ca Broadens

to help solve the budget crisis.

All I can say is . Not because I give a chit about what people put in their body, but because I think it will actually backfire. Every tom, dick and harry from OR, WA, NY, HI and other places and countries will flock here to setup shop. Can you imagine being the first state to wholesale legalize pot? How would they enforce taxation on people that grow it themselves?
The influx of people would probably collapse the already overburdened infrastructure. Not to mention all the new head/culture shops. It'd be like Starbucks-- on every corner.
No, probably wouldn't be that extreme but it'd eventually be on par with Amsterdam. Then undoubtedly, other, more "lenient" states would follow suit. The seediness that much of the "pot" culture breeds would be enough to send the rest of us packing.

    It's already legal in Cali.
If the libtards get the laws to read the way they want though every grower in the country will move here and export to the rest of the States.
An all cash business that's going to save the state by paying taxes?

Legalize it and let the chips fall where they may, I can plant a garden as well as anyone.

I know, but supposedly only for medicinal purposes which you supposedly need to have a written prescription. Like the guy behind the counter isn't going to overlook a forged or phony one
I used to know someone that grew it occasionally and sold it to one of those pharmacy deals.
Talk about contradictions, this dude, and still is as far as I know, is a conservative Republican. Go figure. They're out there. To each his own I guess.

The "doctors" advertise in the local weeklys for your scrip. $100.00 to $150.00 for the scrip for anyone. I've eseen teenagers roll up on their skateboards at one local pot store and walk out with thier dope.

Wonderful, just what we need. Before we know it, it'll be the 60's here in CA all over again without all the cool V8 cars and low gas prices and lower cost of living.

When they do legalize it, I say we have a week long bong party making the rounds to the homes of those who support legalizing it. Of course someone will need to provide some coke so we don't dose off.

They legalize it and my garage will convert to hydroponic, like the other 100 houses in my neighborhood. The guys that sell grow lights and all the other paraphernalia will get rich, the cost of chronic will tank across the country and the feds will have to blockade Cali's borders.

BTW all the paraphernalia will be purchased by internet to avoid the state sales tax.

Another libtard idea that will fail miserably.

Before moving to Canada; did not really see the harm in making pot legal. House parties growing up, it was the booze and drunks that caused problems (fights). Pot heads nice mellow and never a problem. Its a better overall relazing substance over booze.

B.C, in particular does not enforce their drug laws. Club line ups and even at Starbucks you see people openly smoking pot. The slippery slope, other more serious drugs have become a medical problem and non criminal. Overall the drug prices have tanked. Its attracted a huge migration of drug addicts, from even Oregon and Washington State. Vancouver has the highest rate of property crime in North America. The distribution is still in the hands of criminals too meet the demand! Lower prices and supplier compitition, have a huge gang war going on. It makes crime increase until legal distribution takes over. Same thing happened after prohibition was repealed for booze.

Have no problem with pot smokers, preffer being around them over drunks, they are just less rowdy and potentially violent. But Un-less the government has a legal supply distribution set up, it would be crazy to legalize. Simular to Russia when they went "capitalist", the only people equiped to be "legit" business operators, were the former black market gangsters--hence why the wealthiest business people in Russia are all mafia related! Russia has a wild west capitalist system. The same will happen in CA, as in Vancouver, if the gov. allows legal pot without having legal non-criminals control distribution! Examples:

This shooting happened up the street from my new house. Surrounded by several multi million dollar homes. Chad Kroeger from the band Nickel Back lives one block from were the shooting happened. Tom Selleck also has a vacation ranch near this area! Small semi-wealthy neighborhoods should not have a Detroit like murder rate! So much for gun control as well!

    Aren't guns illegal in Canada?

Doesn't seem to be working out real well.

Gun control I fully agree does not work at all. The gov has nuclear weapons and other hardware, planes and tanks. We the people should be able to even the odds, with equal weapons!
