I haven't said much about this health care business because I see it the same as Price. Federal intrusion. Make no mistake, that's all it boils down to. The end goal is simple: Take from those of us that have and give to the have nots. Details aside, that's the big picture. Remember......."spread the wealth"

It goes alot deeper than just take from those that have and give to the have-nots. I believe it is a way to control the elderly by rationing care, capping costs and limiting services. Think payment secdule of services and treatment. I also think there will be in place a "End of Life" plan to minimize cost of care. Couple that with a few minor adjustments in the inheritence laws and the government has complete control of citizen's assets and shorter term of Social Security benefits paid. So with that said it 'cures' the Social Security problem that has not been talked about since the Bush Administration. Why was the S.S. problem so urgent then and now the Dems no longer want or see the need to discuss the problem? I will bet money that if the Govt. run healthcare falls thru and is defeated the Dems will bring up the S.S. problems and how it will be broke by 20XX if we don't do something about it. Anyone that supports Govt. health care has not spent enought time at DMV.

I would agree. It is deeper. That's why even the slightest amount of obamacare should be rejected as it will end up like every other govt. "solution".

I just think the media and everyone else are getting lost in the details of all this nonsense. It's seemingly reaching the point where people are willing to accept even a modified version of govt. health care. It's welfare, just like the cash for clunker. A pig is still a pig no matter how they dress it up.

It's pretty clear now to me that anything they can conceive of will inevitably grow tentacles reaching into every other aspect of our lives.

Heres a little more food for thought. For all you younger people who might think that this is of little importance because you are young and don't have to deal with a ration and limited health care system think of this: If your parents are still alive the burden of care will most likely fall on you as hospital and convalecence care will be limited if not cut off completly, such would be the case if your parents needed convalences care after the hospital kicked them out. You will get to watch your parent[s] suffer with pain and witness their mental capacity go to shit because their 'Quality of life' is anything but. This is something I know a little about as I watched my mother lay in bed for 35 months after a massive stroke. Fortunatly she had enough money to afford 24 hour home care with 2 full time and 1 part time care givers. My mother had access to the best doctor's care the whole time she was alive but her out of pocket expense for almost 3 years exceeded about a quarter of a million dollars and these were 1994-96 dollars. Adjusted for inflation that figure would be closer to a half million dollars.
