I posted on Donzi's thread about Town Halls and it got me looking a little further. The people showing up at Town Halls who are described as a "mob" from what I can see are real "folks" who probably never had the courage (or reason) to speak up before. They are not "polished" or schooled in the art of protest. Then again, who is schooled in the art of protest? Even back when I was in college, as a Biology major I always wondered how people had the time for all of the "sit ins" and other forms of protest. A quick check of their major and 9 times out of 10 it was one or another of the "social" sciences. Then I found out what I had already expected. The Left really does pay people to have their opinion and agenda! Check these two job listings out from Craig's List. Job 1 Job 2. Now how does a non-profit organization that does nothing more than "organize" hire 32 employees at $24K per year plus benefits?
And somehow we get labeled as organizing an effort to disrupt Town Halls. We don't have the infrastructure because we have jobs! By the time we actually speak up, we may be a little angry, but without all of the protest training, and the fact that we actually have true convictions about our opinions; our "passion" may come out as anger.
Anyway, now my blood pressure is up so I'll sign off for now.
