Default Did the Bush Administration conspire to use fear to influence the 2004 election?

"Former Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge says he successfully countered an effort by senior Bush administration officials to raise the nation's terror alert level in the days before the 2004 presidential vote."

It sounds like some folks in the Bush Administration need to be asked some questions under oath - this is a very serious allegation.

I'll see your "serious allegation" , and raise you about a dozen felonies committed by O's closest advisers.........Hell, Paloser herself committed treason by traveling abroad without state department approval........Just another smoke screen to distract from O's economic fiascoes............Ray

Thats it? That wouldn't even scratch the surface of the crimes committed by O's team to win, in part.
    Days before the election?
I guess they waited too long to understand the depth of voter registration fraud, questionable campaign tactics, and the outright felonious nature of their opponent?

Hell, sounds like Tom Ridge needs his as* beat!

Yeah that's right at the top of the "priority list".......How about trading their testimony for O's f--king birth certificate.

Unlike liberals, I feel that we have and should hold all politicians accountable. But thinking about doing a crime or something underhanded is not a crime. Fraud, tax evasion, pay for play, political racism, mailing dead fish in intimidation across state lines, purposefully bankrupting the country, and my favorite not listening to the voters and spiting on the constitution in an attempt to move to a socialist form of government.......I think that is Treason and we don't execute for it enough in my opinion!

Did you read about this on the Huffington Post?

I think you need to be asked some serious questions in regards to your intelligence under oath because your talking like a idiot. Did you forget that three years previous we had 9/11? And that for years after this time, even during the election we felt the fear based on terrorist activites of another plot being planned.

    You sir are a moron.

I'm much more fearful of another terroist attack with Barry in office.

Exactly, these terrorrists like to choose special days, holidays or some other significant event to stage their attacks. Bombings on the day of the election would send a powerful message across the muslim terrorrist world so I see no problem with raising the threat level to be on the side of caution.

If anyone has paid any attention to what has happened in other countries, an election day is a favorite time for terrorist acts. It would make perfect sense to have a raised terror alert level on an election day!

So one of the issues that the American people trust republicans most on, and you are willing to issue a free pass or make up excuses?

THINKING about using terror to scare people into votes is wrong, plain and simple.

As some one else said...wrong is wrong, no matter whose side it is on. For so many years every time a democrat screwed up, all I heard was...ya but...BUSH! Doesn't f-in matter.
