    Default Anybody noticing a change?

Last night Channel 13, the Houston ABC affiliate had an "Undercover" Special Report on City of Houston doing a special "Green" up on older homes in a Houston Heights neighborhood. The homes were refitted with new light bulbs, ceiling fans, weatherstripping, new caulk, and other minor repairs to make these old historical homes more energy efficient. The city had initially appropriated $1K per home but with new "Stimulous" funds had upped each home now done to $6.5K.

Well the reporter found that the "Contractors" were marking materials up 3-4 times plus above cost, charging the city ridiculous fees on labor and things like disposal of incandescent light bulbs @ $9 each. He then traced the home occupants, some of these were just rent homes, and owners back to Mayor Bill White (D) as campaign contribuotrs and backers. Not only that, the chosen contractors were also traced back to White as campaign contributors

It seems the Mayor, in his last term, has eyes on the upcoming open Senate seat of Kay Bailey Hutchinson who will be running for TX Gov in 2010. Lots of favoritism going on here in the Mayor's quest to look environmentally friendly for his Senate run it seems

Not only did the report call out White but it also flashed footage of Obama backing this "Green" campaign and the Stimulous money being used. It was definitely aired as a negative view of the Messiah and his programs which is something I haven't seen before on a major network, albeit it was a local coverage report.

I've also noticed that many others seem to be taking the gloves off more and more when showing snippets of the "Anointed One"....I view this a good sign folks are starting to wake up from the "HusseinO Stupor"

No different then Cheney's Haliburton getting the contract to rebuild Iraq. I'm sure every single invoice was "padded." All politicians are scumbags................I have yet to find ONE that is worth a shit!!!

Cheney's Halliburton? You mean the same Halliburton that has been rebuilding war zones since the 60's? Cheney became Halliburton's CEO in 1995. Halliburton had government contracts way before Cheney was involved and I guarantee they were "padded" prior to the Iraq war.

It's a lot different......Halliburton had incidents of course, but overall probably did a job few others could have done.

The City of Houston case is minor in comparison but it's riduculous to buy a $43 ceiling fan and sell it to the city for $289. Also to charge a fee of $80 to change a light bulb which includes the $9 disposal fee.

Even though all politicians are scumbags, we unfortunately need to find a few responsible enough to try and right our country. What we have in office currently are headed in the extreme opposite direction.

But my point is the mainstream media and more people are becoming aware that O and his ilk aren't the answer.

Actualy Chenney sold his stock in Haliburton and steped down before he ran as VP. And it has been announced in numberous news channels that he had nothing to do with Haliburton getting the contract. They got the contract because they were the only company large enough to handle the job. A job the have been doing for years before Chenney even had anything to do with them. BUt go ahead and believe the Dem conspiracy theories if you wish.

    Nope, completely different.

There were only two qualified US companies that could build the entire infrastucture of Iraq. Bechtel was one.

They could have given the contract to the fwench, germans, russians or chinese instead though.

Thats the little tidbit that most asshats seem to completely ignore. How many other US Companies have the infrastructure in place to do a support mission on that scale.

    Default Media ratings

The major networks are seeing the writing on the wall. Fox news is slamming them in the ratings and they know it. Slowly, ever so slowly, the major networks are slipping into truth and hoping the sponsors they covet won't disappear. It is a sign of the times when reporters actually report the news instead of create it.....Ray

I'm getting that same feeling.... The newness and glamor are wearing off. The "Fad" continues with those who know no better but the market is adjusting.

Time for a screen name change, from "Watch Me Squirt" to "Watch Me Dodge The Truth".

By the way, Squirt, here's some more REALITY for ya.......................
Haliburton Inc, has ONE ENTITY, and ONE ENTITY ONLY that does U.S. Govt. contract work.
The Haliburton subsidiary of KBR (Kellogg Brown & Root Inc).
KBR has been FOR SALE SINCE 2004.

It is now 2009, who bought it and when?

Here's a clue for ya, THEY HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIND A BUYER.

Why not? Because IT IS A MONEY LOOSER, yet, are you STILL going to sit here and proclaim that it is making money hand over fist, like a good democrat, like they all spent 8 years doing??????????

Obama is now in charge, who's the primary US Govt. contractor in Iraq NOW?????????

Another clue for ya........ Kellogg Brown & Root Inc., and not because Dick Cheney is VP, because that genious Joe Biden is VP now.

One more, I might as well.....................
Who was the big U.S. Govt./Millitary contractor during the Clinton Administration, when that other lying sack of environmental crap idiot Al Gore was VP?
    Kellogg Brown & Root Inc.
