Default Our Wonderful Supreme Court at work again to dismantle America

The following court ruling was just posted in favor of 1st amendment rights to protect protesters at MILITARY FUNERALS.

1st Amendment protects military funeral protesters - Yahoo! News

Well I sure hope these protesters dont mind it too much when I will exercise my right to protect these MILITARY FAMILIES' rights from their bad behavior and beat the hell out of any one of them that see fit to degrade any military member. Passed or Present.

Shame on these people, the protesters AND our SUPREME JUDGES!

    I read that this morning.
I see it as the green light for the Families/ Friends of the fallen to take matters into their own hands...

While the message they spew is disgusting, they do follow the law on free speech and don't start fights or anything of that kind. I expected this ruling because anything else would have limited our right to free speech. I hate them and their message but the ruling was the right thing to do. Let the riders continue their way of retaliating against this "church". I definitely wouldn't shed a tear if someone did take the law into his own hands and beats the crap out of these people, but I won't condone it.

Ok Boss, so tell us why the courts can see fit to "CREATE" laws that protect minorities (of any race, creed, or sexual persuasion) of verbal abuse by deaming it HATE CRIMES but not protect these families right to privacy for our COUNTRIES PROTECTORS?????? Where are their RIGHTS????

This is a serious double standard here... the ruling is NOT fair to all. These people are inciting hatred and bigotry, tell me why that isnt a hate crime also? What they will now incite is a riot... and laws will be broken, and they will be required to fight for their right to secrete the puke that they will enrage us with. But the courts cannot protect them on the street. America is becoming the old west again and if thats to be then so be it. The degradation to society that the church of westbrook speaks of is their own making and they will experience the 'wrath' of their choices also.

Condone it or not, we will protect YOUR military family members as we would anyone elses.

Walking around with a stupid message on a stick isn't a hate crime. It's free speech. If I wanted to walk around in Harlem with a sign that says God hates ******s, I can. If I wanted to walk around D.C. yelling "America hates Democrats", I can. And until I started suggesting to people that we kill the democrats it ISN'T inciting a riot. It's their own opinion. Now if they started hitting people with that stick it would become a hate crime.

Suggesting old west vengeance would make you worse than this "church". They spew garbage, people can choose not to listen. Killing someone for what they say is murder.

    Nice post.
    Let's take another angle:
"The picketers obeyed police instructions and stood about 1,000 feet from the Catholic church in Westminster, Md., where the funeral took place in March of 2006."

I tend to think 1000' is enough. Any other thoughts on what would be a good distance?

How far can a human voice travel? Add another 500 feet to that for good measure.

I really don't see this as free speech; This is infringing on the family's right to have the PRIVATE service they wish....if these scumbags want to practice free speech, then they should go to the steps of congress or any other public location....this is a private funeral, not a public funeral.

To make it clear, I would probably do time in jail (at the least) if this evil, miserable creature showed up at a funeral I was attending....Someone seriously needs to put this guy in a horizontal postion for a good couple of months....maybe he would be able to grow some true christian value in his putrid heart, then.

I grew up in the topeka, KS area. I have seen Fred Phelps and his group of nutballs pepper spray, beat and do just about anything they can to provoke a reaction from anyone so they can sue them. They have been armed with video cameras for years. And yes I have seen this with my own eyes. They beat the crap out of a minister in topeka in front of his own church. This has nothing to do with free speech, but has everything to do with advancing the cause of their CULT. The entire cult for the most part is made up of the Phelps clan and the gene pool is very small. Having signs on a heavily travelled street with images of one guy bending another is not free speech. It is mazing how good Fred Phelps and his clan of inbreeds are at drawing homosexual acts on signs when they are supposed to be anti??? Giving the right to protest the people who join the military to protect them from enemies???
