    Default Japan VS Katrina

Who can explain the difference in these photos?

This is not a racist statement. It's not even race related so don't try to turn it that way, I just find the stark differences between Japan and New Orleans after their catastrophe to be shocking.

The Japanese are a very proud and respectful culture. Japanese leaders who have failed have been known to fall on the sword, at the very least denounce themselves. Failure is a disgrace in Japanese culture.

The U.S. is a wide mixture between that and the opposite. U.S. leaders that have failed have been known to write books about it and make millions. Failure is no biggie for much of U.S. culture. Big difference in self respect than in Japan.

Pretty sure that's the point of this thread. The way it's been done lately in the US is not working well.

There is a difference between scavenging and looting. A thirsty man taking water for himself is scavenging. Grabbing a big screen TV is looting. Unfortunately there is a line someplace between a six pack of bottled water and a big tub of Heineken.
That's why there's video of the POLICE in New Orleans looting.

    Taking care of their own!

Racism is the most overused and misused term in the nation. Race has nothing to do with 99.9% of the issues it's brought into play on. What we are really dealing with is "Culturalism". Culture from societal groups as small as family units and as large as nations.

If the media were doing their jobs as objective journalists, they'd make this point rather than stoke the fires by playing the "color" of skin game.......It's outrageous!!!!!!

There are some looting videos where all races were involved. There are many to choose from, this one, even involving the police doing the looting.

The same voters that voted William J Jefferson into congress. What do you expect?

And failure in this country is worn like a badge of honor. Lefties love failure as it allows them to make their case against capitalism and our system. "We live in the greatest country in the world....work with me to change it" ....Barack Hussain Obama

Most people in America have a certain set of beliefs and attitudes based on a Protestant work ethic, work hard and succeed.
Japan has a similar set of attitudes.
It has nothing to do with skin color.
You could say those attitudes are not widespread in Africa, Latin America, and parts of Asia.
But this is belied by the fact that some people come here from those places and do very well indeed.
I suppose there is a difference between a guy taken forcibly from Africa, and the guy who risked his life to get here so he could start a biz and make a buck.
