Default Civil liberties assulted by Obama???

HA, I cant believe that I scooped everyone on this story...

I happened to catch a segment on NPR where a few Civil Liberties professors were LAMBLASTING Obama saying that he has been FAR WORSE than G.W.BUSH with regard to the assult on American civil liberties. I thought these guys heads were going to explode since the HOPE/CHANGE has clearly blown up in their face:

Why ACLU's Head Honcho is "Disgusted" With Obama

From Anthony Romero, head of the ACLU:

Civil liberties activists fervently hoped that Obama, a former constitutional law professor, would be different. I talk to people in this community often, and there is definitely a sense of despair now. Think about some of the things Obama has done (or not done) that affect civil liberties:

    1.He hasn't closed Guantanamo.
2.More important, he hasn't ended the indefinite detention without trial that makes Guantanamo so controversial.
3.He's still using military commissions instead of the federal court system, and has backed away from plans to try the 9/11 suspects in New York.
4.He seems to believe he can order the "targeted killing" of American citizens, without trial or other due process.
5.His Justice Department has mounted a wide-ranging investigation of the Guantanamo defense bar. That investigation is reportedly led by Patrick Fitzgerald, the US attorney that some civil liberties activists wanted to investigate the Bush administration's torture and detention policies.
6.He hasn't authorized a full, independent investigation of torture, let alone a criminal probe of the people who supposedly authorized it.
7.He has embraced the use of the state secrets privilege in order to shield the government from inconvenient lawsuits.
8.He has launched an all-out war on national security whistleblowers and leakers.
9.He's pursued the right to detain anyone indefinitely, without formal review, in Afghanistan—even if they weren't captured there.
10.He's reauthorized controversial Patriot Act wiretapping provisions.
11.He pushed for and signed a new law allowing Secretary of Defense Robert Gates to block the release of photos of detainee abuse.

People can disagree on civil liberties. But given their positions on these issues, no one should expect Romero and the ACLU to be anything but disillusioned

The ACLU and Obama voters were sure fooled by the "Hope and Change" pitch ! They didn't realize that Obama was bought, paid and controlled by the big money and beaurcratic status quo interests and that those interests would not allow too much hope and change. After three years it is apparent that Obama is just another puppet just like Bush was for the corporate / banking/ military/ union / and foreign interests. As will be the next President whose election will be paid for by these same interests. Get used to it. The oppression and dominance of America by these profit and power seeking interests is only going to get worse. The now docile Tea Party movement is already in their back pockets...The only thorn in their side right now is the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Name me one group of people that are still openly happy with Obama. The Black caucus is pissed, the Hispanic caucus is pissed, ACLU, Socialists, SEIU,
Main st, Wall st, Military, you name it. Some of these groups may publicly back him, but off camera, nobody is happy with this fraud. I guess this is the problem when you really are an empty suit. You lie as easily as tell the truth. You have no moral grounding, no convictions or beliefs that haven't been fed to you by someone else with an agenda. He is Robo Pres. He only knows what to think when hes been instructed what to think. Why do you suppose he does all his leading from behind?

I'm really happy that you finally admitted that it wasn't ALL Bushes fault.

HA... Not that I believe there is any major plot in corporate America, anymore so than any other "special interest" BUT....

The OCCUPY movemnt isn't even equal to a gnat on the ass of a moose... They are such a NON issue for anyone its laughable that you could give them any creedence...

THEY don't even know what they are protesting AND the very thing that THEY think they are protesting is probably more SELF INFLICTED pain than not...

Case in point, lets go back 10-15 years ago when it was soooooo very stylish to drive a BENZO, or a BMW or a HONDA or a LANDCRUISER... Back before Toyota and Honda and German auto makers set up stateside shops in a large way... It was looked down on AND I have personally been told "ugh DOMESTIC" when I would pull up in my FORD... EVERYTHING had to be "imported" to be cool... Admit it, thats how it was and people didn't think twice about "HMMMM, if I buy everything imported will that impact our manufacturing base???"...

I have been boycotting WalMart for a good 20 years now and I feel like I should have been even MORE vocal and started boycotting even earlier... I preached the impact of buying CHINESE everything 15+ years ago... I complained at KMART when they started carrying imported jeans instead of LEE and Levi's...

Face it, VERY VERY VERY VERY few of the METROSEXUALs that are occupying didnt complain and in fact they wanted to be stylish with their imported THIS AND THAT...

NOW THE CHICKENS have come home to roost and they dont know why they dont have a job in the travel industry, food services industry, hotel industry, financial services, upscale hair salons, botiques... PEOPLE DONT HAVE $$$$$$$$ to piss away because we dont have any manufacturing jobs to keep the wheels spinning here... The "DONT DRILL FOR OIL / SAVE OUR PLANET" has killed the U.S. luxury car market, boating market, ROUTE66 ROAD trip type of incomes and people are just sitting home...

These OCCUPY folks cant see the forest for the trees, a bunch of METROSEXUALS that never really knew where the $$$ came from to begin with and now cant figure out why they cant get a job when they buy imported everything from Catsup to hair products to pickles to shirts/shoes/jeans to cars/SUVs...

The BIG irony to me is that China and the Asia PAC manufacturers have some of the absolute WORST human rights records of anywhere yet the METROSEXUAL occupiers cant think two steps ahead and factor those human rights issues of ASIA/PAC mfgrs. into making a purchase of gloves made in CHINA to keep their little fingers warm while they go out and protest human rights issues in the U.S...

The chickens have come home to roost...

Occupy wall street is nothing more than a bunch of unemployed losers bussed in at the SEIU's expense with HUGE TEA Party envy.

I've attended most all of the TEA Party rallies at the AZ State Capital and I've seen some clear differences:
The TEA Party all across the country has a clear objective where these wall street loons have an incoherent message that differs with each person questioned. They are primarily democrat/union/entitlement folk complaining against some of their party's greatest campaign contributors. How smart is that?
The TEA Party have jobs, pay taxes, support themselves, have made a huge difference nationally already with their movement (see "Mid Term Shellacking") and they clean up after themselves unlike union/democrat rallies. Yes we have photos for proof.
When the TEA Party rallies are concluded the members return to the comfort of their homes and productive lives where the wall streeters head back to Mom and Dad's to eat free food.
    but
The biggest difference is that the TEA Party will last and remain effective for years to come where these Wall Streeters will be forgotten when the union money runs out.

In summary, Occupy Wall Street is RTI and Z where the TEA Party is myself, 2MM, Tommy, Marvin, Icecreaman, Duya and a hundred other voices of reason posting here.

Thank you Doc! I wear it as a badge of honor to be included in your post.

I do notice that the first 2 mentioned are without employ, (school/ retired) while the remaining group all have jobs or business's.
