The only thing that surprises me about this is that he didn't do it during a republican debate, or wait until the Republican nominee has an campiagn ad airing next year. Maybe this is a yearly thing and they are planning on doing just that, and this is just a trial run for this time next year.

No one remembers the Emergency Broadcast System tests they did all the time decades ago? With that high pitched beeeeeeep and then "this has been a test of the emergency broadcast system".

This is the next incarnation of that. And a waste of money in my opinion. With the internet, cell phones, tv, etc. information will get out quickly. Notice they didn't bother using it on 9/11 because the media was quick to alert everyone anyway.

    Default How long?

The cable carrier here in Bullhead has been "testing" once a week for all the years I've been here. First NPG, and now Suddenlink, shut down for a 2 minute or so test in the wee hours of the night, with the explanation on the screen... Was there a length mentioned about the shutdown? How long?
