    Default Incumbent President

Perhaps someone can enlighten me as I haven't had the time to even research this scenario.

Throughout U.S. history has anyone ever run against an incumbent President in the same party [democrat or republican]? If so have they ever been successful?

Just wondering if the Democratic party thinks Obama is the best that's out there. That is kind of a disturbing thought to me that no one sees him as a significant enough liability to even consider someone else. Hell I think Hillary could quit at Sec of State and beat him in a primary right now, and also think she'd be a better president.

What are your thoughts? I'm especially interested in Democrat's thoughts. I already know how all the Obama haters feel.

Just based upon how much money he has accumulated for his re-election he is the one they still want. Hillary and other Dems do not seem to be interested in challenging him. Dems also follow the party line much better than the Repubs. Money Pit observed that Repubs are shooting in the tent! It seems the Dems have strict no guns in the tent rules !

I am quite certain that you are correct in stating that he "is the one they want"...

As long as it is clear that by "they" you mean the big money contributors who are the recipients of kickbacks and bribes for support.

I would hazard a guess that never in history has so much money traded hands behind the scenes as with the imposter currently disgracing the oval office.
I think that Hillary and others simply will not attempt suicide by going after the anointed one, the amount of money involved with his handlers and O is simply too much to challenge, and dangerous to do so.

No, he will have to be unseated by the people, then the Dems can regroup possibly?

Hillary would be a completely different liability to America. Completely! I believe the democrat party has been reduced to sheep who could care less who their shepherd is. They simply follow whatever the union bosses say and follow the trail of entitlement money and govrnment growth.

With all the stimulus moneys going to companies like Solyndra who donated heavily to the O's reelection, no doubt he has the proceeds. But I guess that is right by the liberal playbook, so they get a pass on this....

It has happened in the primaries before. I don't recall and instance of where they actually won the presidency.

Hmm, a primary challenger to Obama would be running to Obama's LEFT, a scary thought.
