    Default The "Occupy" people?

Although I have not paid an incredible amount of attention to the entire "Occupy" movement, I do think its a bunch of crap. Of all the people on the local news- interviewed here in tucson, Im pretty sure I wouldn't let them pay ME to pull my weeds. And being a starving General Contractor, I can say I personally know more than a few immigrants (possibly illegal?) that would PAY ME to pull weeds- in hopes to get another job. WTF is wrong with this picture? I've worked my ass off for 20-some odd years to become an incredible wood worker, and the initial demand from OWS is 100k jobs and "forgive my student loans."

What ever happened to being proud of what your talents can produce? I remember back in the good old days, a homeowner asking me "How the hell are you gonna build this structure?" And my response being "I'm not quite sure yet, but if it doesnt look like artwork to you when Im done, Its free."

The usual response these days is "Yeah...NO" "Someone else will do it less than your material price."

This entire movement is disconnected from reality. They refuse to admit that every meal they ever ate came from the employment provided by some corporate giant or the tax dollars they paid into a failed system that fed them the fish rather than taught them how to fish. Winter will set in soon and we'll have deaths who the mainstream media will hail as martyrs for this grand cause of idiocy.
The best things in life aren't things!

I am not saying that undesirables haven't joined in and are actively participating in the occupy movement, butI think it is funny how many conservatives call the occupy people lazy and tell them to get a job. I would be willing to bet they would change their tune if they themselves were unemployed and found it difficult to get a decent paying job, or even any job. How many times have I read stories of people that have become unemployed only due to the poor economy; these people try for months to get a job in the industry that they have worked all their lives in only to be unsuccesful, so they have to settle for some part time gig at starbucks or mcdonalds. Go from making $70k, $80k, $100k, or whatever to making minimum wage for 20 hours a week if you are lucky enough to do that and see how much you like it.

"Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though" President Barack Obama.

Liberals just chose to ignore relevant information about the world they live in, and then call themselves sophisticated for having chosen to be more stupid than God made them.

I also find it amusing that the same conservatives who claim those down on their luck should take responsibilty for being in the predicament that they are in conveniently like to blame President Obama for any hardship that they themselves have encountered ie: slow business because of poor economy, home value going down, wages and profits declining, etc.

    Mr Ram,

I am conservative and I have been laid off from a very well paid job at Pepsico. While out of work for 5 months, I made it my "job" to find another. I worked overnights at Target stocking their shelves, so I could have the daylight hours to go to interviews, meet with head hunters and the like. After 5 months of this I took a job that gave me enough pay to cover my bills and have a little fun money, but nothing like I was used to. So now I live, and am happy. While I have cancelled satellite and internet at home and now mow my own yard and do my own remodeling and painting because I cannot afford to pay someone to do it for me. Talked to a friend who was just layed off the other day and when I suggested disconnecting satellite she responded like I was pulling her toenails out. Maybe its just me or the way I was raised, but if you want something work for it. Don't charge it and then stop paying your bills. I believe all the lazy folks who are "occupying" should all have credit checks done on them...mmmmm wonder how many have had shit repossesed because they stopped paying for something they still have possession of. I have a real problem with folks working the system over to get free cheese, housing assistance, cell phone assistance all because they are too lazy...all the while these folks are the ones at 7-11 buying "groceries" with their "free govt money prepaid credit card". When I get ready to retire, I am buying a couple pistols and a bullet proof vest and then gonna go pick out my retirement checks from the HOOD. Maybe take an Escalade with wagon wheels, a plasma tv and oh hell maybe roll a drug dealer for some pocket cash, because the govt ain't gonna have no cash left by the time I retire so I'm gonna take it from the folks who are stealing it from me today.

    Ms. Rampgirl,

I am glad to hear that you have been able to find work after your lay off from Pepsico. Hopefully your new company will realize how motivated you are and pay you accordingly. Look, I am not defending the people that just sit on their ass and don't want to work. But at the same time, I can see how someone who did lose their job due to the poor economy, and has sincerely looked for work but been unsuccesful might become discouraged and upset. I under no circumstances support anyone who games the system to get ahead, but to label all OWS as lazy unmotivated pieces of shit is wrong. I have read enough stories about people that were well paid hard working loyal employees that were laid off and couldn't find anything close to to the job they previously had and had to settle for some minimum wage part time job just to survive. It is worse when the person going thorough this is the major bread winner of a family who has a wife and children relying on him. I personally have known many people I have worked with, and who have worked for me that made $80k to $100k a year busting their ass in the construction industry who are lucky to find enough work now to make $30k. Going through that has to be demoralizing, especially when you really want to work but there is no work available. Then having to take some low paying job just to survive when CEO's are getting raises every year and the gap between the wealthy and everyone one else just keeps getting bigger and bigger, I can see why people are angry.

    Default Occupy LA...

Occupy LA has moved.... A few miles east to the COUNTY JAIL.... No "catch and release" last night, and NO "Own Reconnaissance" releases today.... The Ch 5 reporter was walking through the park this morning....What a frickin MESS!!! It'll cost the taxpayers a fortune to have the HAZMAT teams clean it all up.... IMO, for the most part these people are the dregs of society. Out of just about any 10, 7 are just freeloading, lazy, do nothing, wannabe protesters with no idea what they're protesting... Well now the ones that refused to leave in an orderly fashion can start a new protest about conditions in the County JAIL...Well, they can start when they get out after doing their time, or posting bail..... They were videotaped breaking the law, so not guilty pleas are fruitless.... Wonder how they feel about the sheepherder, liberal Mayor now?
Gotta hand it to the LAPD, they showed up with a group that looked to be the size of the Normandy invasion, and went to work...

While our news stations only reported on Dallas Occupy people, I can only comment on what was reported. I can honestly say I did not see one person camped out whether they were actually interviewed or not that I would hire. I do believe self expression is important, hell I practice that every now and then when I drink too much. But I don't recall seeing anyone who looked like they should be employed anywhere besides the carnival, adult bookstores, tat parlors, or bars. Most were folks I wouldn't want touching my groceries while they scanned them. I may not be right but it is how I feel, and that ain't wrong. Thanks have a great day and please drive through.

RAM the majority of these people are the undesirables. I don't see thousands of clean cut hard working americans out there protesting. They are almost all the scourge of socioty who have found a scapegoat to blame for thier self screwed lives. I love how you say a few undesirables come out and we say they all are. Yet ask any liberal about the TP and the first thing that comes out of thier mouth is what racists they are. especially the media. Yet when you look at the pics of TP rallies you see 1000's of clean cut hard working Americans with a beef against the gov. Yes there have been a few fringe with racist signs but they are 1 in 100+. But the Occupiers are 99 scum to 1 real hard working americans. Most of the people you see in the Occupy mnovements look they couldn't hold a job at a bong shop. I sure as hell wouldn't hire what I see to represent my company.
If you voted for Obama to prove you were not racist, then you better find someone else to vote for to prove your not stupid.

So what do you suggest America do with all these "undesirables" ? BTW, "Get a job" does not seem possible in many cases because, as you and MS. noted, "undesirables" don't look nice and also because there simply are not enough jobs. Possibly too many nice looking Mexicans here taking jobs? Maybe we need WW3 to draft millions and put rifles in their hands and hope they never come back? Life long welfare seems to be how things have been handled so far in many cases is not an answer. Seriously, America has a huge "undesirables" and "scourge of society" unemployment and other problems. What do you think a realistic solution is. Is there even a solution? IS America now now to big to not fail?
