    Default Prop Advice

I am running a stock 496 in a 26' closed bow cat. I am running a Bravo 26P prop and my buddy has a Bravo 28P he wants me to try on my boat. I am afraid it will be too sluggish out of the hole for me with only having a stock 496. Any thoughts?

Does not hurt to try it. If you don't like it you can always go back to your 26.

Can you pull the 26 to 4900-5000 rpm with throttle and trim left? Or do you struggle to get there? That will let you know if you can run the bigger prop.

I pull the B1 28P to 5000 rpm on my stock 496 in a 25' open bow Warlock.

Does seem like too steep of pitch prop . Don't take the chance of hurting you motor.
