    Default Lucas Oil Holding rope?

Been hearing/seeing rumors of Lucas going to 50' distance from holding rope to starting line. Any truth to this, and thoughts from all drivers.

I heard from a reliable source that it will be 50 ft instead of 125 ft. It will be a new learning curve for everyone. I am not against it if it makes for safer racing as was explained to me. Merry Christmas , can't wait for summer

I think it makes a lot of sense. There is no longer a rolling start so the 125' is not necessary. a 50' set back will allow for more consistent reaction times as well as making the course 75' shorter. I think you would have to retire all the E.T. records since the boats have 75' less to break the starting beam.

Yes, it is going to happen for Lucas, I'm not sure what they are going to do with the ET brackets. It's gonna be kind of a wait and see what a typical 6,8,9,10 sec boat will run with the 75' less run to the start beam. They will find out in parker in February. Ken said that they might have 1/4 mile traps too.
