New Desert Storm organizers revamp Havasu’s Halloween
Poker Run “Monster Storm” slated for October 12-14, 2017
Plans are underway to revamp one of Lake Havasu’s annual Poker Runs as a kick-off for its new ownership. Storm Poker Runs is organizing its 8th annual Monster Storm, formerly known as Monster Bash, to be held from October 12–14, 2017 at The Nautical Beachfront Resort at 1000 McCulloch Blvd. The Halloween-themed Poker Run is teaming up with the popular online boating forum, River Dave’s Place (RDP), to simultaneously celebrate the 10th anniversary RDP Regatta.
Storm Poker Runs is reinventing Monster Storm to enhance spectator access to event activities, such as meeting industry icons like Bob Teague, owner of Teague Custom Marine, and Win Farnsworth, owner of the “Low Altitude” turbine 50-foot Mystic boat. Additionally, the public is invited to wear costumes to the awards and after-parties, both of which will be held at the Nautical (participants only at drivers’ meetings and Saturday dinner party). Spectators are also invited to shop the vendor and sponsor booths that will be on display at the Nautical throughout the weekend, as well as watch the Monster Storm and RDP Regatta participants raft-up for an aerial photo! To stay up-to-date on information and announcements, check Home or Storm Poker Run social media pages: www.facebook.com/StormPokerRuns or www.instagram.com/StomPokerRuns
All boaters who meet the insurance and registration requirements can participate in Monster Storm Poker Run. There is no boat speed or size requirement for the event. Cash prizes will be awarded to the three highest hands and the three best costume contest winners. To register for Monster Storm, go to Home and click the Monster Storm tab to download the registration forms.
