Not sure how this got more complex. Simply put we moved the entire lake boat side of the forums inside a container. If you click through from the home page you would probably not even notice a difference.

Nothing else changed... no picture posting changes, format or layout changes have been made. Simply one single container wrapper put around the entire lake boat and offshore area.

I am sorry that it confused and down right frightened some of you, rest assured we will constantly be looking for ways to make this cleaner and easier to use in the future. The only other option was to split the user base and make you sign up twice. Some better options may come available in the future, but currently this is the best we have.

    Unhappy

I ended up saving the Lakes page to the top bar of AOL and it is working okay. It did take me awhile to do this for some reason...
What happened to me was I'd get on the Lakes page where everything seemed normal, then I'd sign on and get the extremely reduced page and sometimes even get the page for ocean boats. Something definitely wasn't working I'm sorry to say.
I'm not a power user for sure but I use computers all day at work and it took me a bit to figure out.

My suggestion to Admin is to get another logon id and another computer to sign on with and sample the fixes you implemented. You might understand what we are talking about then since all of these postings are 100% correct from what I've seen. It's okay for me now but I had to work around the issue that was created by the "fix". Maybe there was a reason the fix had to be implemented but the results didn't come out as you wanted them from a users perspective.

.......Please if you are going to keep the new thread/post combo, try to fix it. It really doesen't work well..........It seldom shows the latest post shown on the forum topic page, plus...........If you try and go from the first post, to the last,...by clicking on previous,..... it usually takes you to about the middle post........In other words, If the first post is 1 and the last is 40, if you push previous, expecting to go to 40, it will take you to something like 29, or maybe 19??????...........I don't see what this particular change in thread programming, has to do with the programming of the seperation of Lake Boats and Offshore Boats......I am confused........Your subscribers don't need more time consuming torture,.....remember we need our every spare minute to polish our boats, work on our tans and to figure out ways to embelish our tales so we don't get caught in.... "out and out lies!"........ It would be a whole lot easier to sign up twice, and still be able to scroll the thread, item by item and page by page, if in fact,.... that is the root cause of the thread/post problem????

........Am I missing something here????????? I seem to remember that once you followed the prompts to the thread, that you could scroll through the posts and pick the one you wanted to read.........then if you were done on that particular page you could click to another, by picking a page number............Granted I experienced the '60s in full living color and could be hallucinating......but I don't think so...........During that era I grazed in the early configuration of computer programing.............the evolution of that IBM punchcard system is Mac........Not Big Mac......Not McWindows........Easy on the user............My laptop is Windows Vista.....and if someone on that end would log on using Windows Vista, and follow the prompts, I believe they would see why more doctors are perscribing Thorazine,..........and they would see what every one is complaining about........I will get on my knees and beg, but only if in front of the swimsuit model of my choice............It seems to me that with my post of today being before,.. someone's of 7/9....could be part of my confusion.....I don't remember a post containing a quote being entered right after the the post quoted?????Correct me if I am wrong.........Marshall McCluhen in his book the "Media Is The Message" said that books should be written in this manner, instead of the normal linear way.........It really made good sense, ...."if you were under the influence of LSD"............

The problem may be in that I was switched on to the threaded mode.........I do not know if mode options previously existed?.........the threaded mode is the one, where the previously mentioned problems exist..........Now if I can only master posting large pics.....I thought I had it with a pic of my Sanger on........'86 and before boats........but I have been unable to find the post.............I will try and search linearly instead of through threaded??????....

I have always used linear so I'm not familiar with threaded.

I've written a pic posting text tutorial and posted it in the announcement section that appears above all forums along with forum rules. Please let me know if I missed anything.

I realize we have a video version admin made but I think it may move too fast for some users that aren't adept at using their computers quickly, hence the text version.
