  1. V-Drives
Ive got a 17'-ish Howard that has a 454 and Hallcraft v-drive. I've been itching to get a reverse gear in it to make it easier to maneuver in the channel and lake. It just so happens that I have a th475 (th400 with all straight cut gears for motorhomes) with less than 9k original miles on it...

Couple questions I was hoping you experts could help out with. I have a 74 Regatta 18' jet boat with a 455 and berkely pump. I have been wanting to put trim on it so i have started looking at the Place Diverter website and a couple questions cam up for me: 1. How do I know what pump I have? The...

Was looking for input from anyone who had changed over their carburetored engine to TBI? Mine is a 365 HP 454. In looking at some of the conversions, it seems that they only use the 2bbl TBI and are not rated to my HP. Pricing seems to range from $1300-2000.

just want to be sure my logic is right... on the line coming from the pump to the engine, with the ball valve in it: Put a fitting before the ballvalve that I can screw a hose into?
  6. GN7 On the Dyno
Just trying to get some thoughts about adding octane booster to the gas tanks. What are your opinions on this. I am currently running 10.8 compression. Not all lakes have premium gas.

I was wondering if anyone has added petcock drain valves to their Ford 460 to make winterizing easier? I'm building a new motor for my boat and would like to install two if it is possible. Thanks in advance

Before (GN7) want to beat me with a stick...has anyone used, or heard of any benefits from adding 1-oz of TCW3 (ashless 2-stroke oil) to 5-gallons (ratio) regular gas? Reason, I'm hearing it's very good as an upper cylinder lube(UCL), helps protect the valve seats (like leaded gas did) cleans...

To date, the stereo in my Scarab is fairly simple. 4 pairs of 8" Memphis Audio co-axial speakers, each corner wired in parallel, for 2ohm load. Hifonics Zeus ZXi-6406 4 channel amp (4x170w @ 2ohm) driving 85w per speaker set. Audio Control Matrix line driver amplifier Apline head unit 2 Optima...

Hi, I have a light lay u p Bahner 18 foot jet. I have nothing under the bow to add support, or strength. I can watch my bow move as I am running down the lake. The hull is made of glass over plastic, and the deck is just fiberglass. Any ideas how I can make it a bit stronger?? I am waiting to do...

Seems like I shouldn't have this problem on a 60mph day cruiser but I have a pretty good chunk of fiberglass missing about 6 inches behind my prop. I filled it with marinetex once and just noticed that it's all gone. Is there any way to add a plate without flipping the boat and cutting into the...

I decided to put a 4deg wedge in for a little more roost. And at 3500-4000 rpms only it vibrates pretty good, after 4000rpms it goes away, you can feel it in the floor. Any ideas???

Flat v-drive, 396 BBC, iron heads and block, +/- 10.5:1 CR, max rpm +/-5000, Neovane A-755 (I think) cam driven water pump Idles and cruises at 120*, gets up to about 160* running it hard. The reason I'm considering a thermostat is once it's up around 160* it doesn't want to idle all that...

Friend of mine is thinking of adding a seatbelt to the rear seat of his f350 to accommodate an 8 year old. Is this legal? He's been doing the take 2 cars everywhere u go routine and is tired of it, with todays gas prices not sure I can blame him. They have 5 kids all together w mom and dad that...

Im adding an amp and some extras to my 'toon and Id like to add a second battery on the cheap. Im going to run 2 pair of 6X9's and a 2-10 or 2-12's in a box and maybe 500w for the whole thing. Whats the best senario for this setup: 1) Install second 12v battery isolated from original...

Well, my boat just isn't loud enough for me yet. Under way, the damn motors drown just about everything out. So, I've pretty well decided I want to add another set of speakers (8) and another amp. To keep it all consistent, I'll add the same amp again (HiFonics zxi-6406) and the same speakers...
