If somebody has a light layup TX-19, is there any real "reasonable" way to stiffen up the hull so that it doens't crack all the time?

Has anyone did a Carbon Fiber / Kevlar Lay up in a Jet Boat Mold before? Any Pros and Cons compared to Fiberglass and Resin? One of my friends does Carbon Fiber for work so I was thinkin .... :D

Just curious why I really havnt seen any step hulls on jets. Maybe they are out there and I just havn't seen any. I realize that a properly set up drag jet doesnt really have any hull in the water per say but, what about a nice cruising speed efficiency? Wouldnt a step hull be more efficient?

A mfg. in the cheetah thread said he uses 9 layers of 2415 stitchmat to make his boats. That mat is 38oz. If a 25' boat is approx 500 Sq. Ft. total area. Wouldn't the hull be a total of approx 5000 Lbs. if you include glass, wood etc. ?? Seems I'd be giving up a lot in speed,fuel economy for...
