Bought replacement proform main body to replace 600 cfm holly. Recently 2 float bowl bolt threads in the carb body went bad. The threads are helicoil . I bought the holly helicoil kit and the coils are to big for the original hole in the body. Proform says they bought the body from quick fuel...

Fired up the new 489 blown gas mtr. on the Kurtis yesterday. drip drip drip oil leak at main seal. What the heck did I do wrong, last motor leaked there too but not as bad. yes I built it too. 2 piece seal is in the right way used sealer on outside and ends,clocked the seal,:bangmyhead: lubed...
Don't know much about this motor. Bearings had issue, some were removed and rod caps put back on. Good for parts for rebuild. Came with boat I bought.

Is the fel pro 2918 rear main seal needed for lets say 10-12" vac? Or would the standard one be fine? I ran the standard one for 6 years with no leaks, was just wondering as I just bought the 2918 anyways.

Got my crank/rods/pistons back from balance, and im going to start puttin everything back together. But I need some info on the bearings and what clearances to run...I have a set of standard thickness King bearings for the rods and mains that were installed in the short block engine i bought...
Anyone have the part number for a Gen 5 Main Bolt WITH the windage tray stanchion? It is slightly different length than the Mark 4 bolt which is 3902885.

Ok guys, simple question.......what are the chances of keeping a 2-bolt BBC together if it were limited to 6,500 (1/4 mile at a time only....really) and boost limited to 7-8 psi. Timing max. 34 degrees total. This dealio would be run on 110 Sunoco or E-85/98. My thoughts were that DETONATION...
