    Don't know if I'm posing in the correct section but I have a olds 455 in a jet boat the valve covers fill with oil I believe it has a high volume oil pump any suggestions would be appreciated again I'm new to this forum I pulled the motor check the bearings they look good is a stock motor aside...

    Dose anyone run a pre-oiler on a twin rajay system. A seperate 12 volt pump to oil feed the turbos before startup and after shut down. Or is just leting the motor idle a few minutes enough. Thanks for any help. I'm new to turbos.

    My problem, getting very little oil up the push rods to the roller rockers and onto the valve's, So the question is on a solid lifters, how does the oil get up to the valve's, if the cup on the lifters are solid and the push rods sit in that cup how does it work.. Thanks.....

    I saw that a 'quick fix' way to reduce some of the oiling problems on the 455 olds is to run restricted pushrods, that only have a 0.040 hole thru them. This is supposed to reduce the problem of pumping too much oil to the top end, where it gets trapped, and then starves the bottem end of oil...

    This was brought up in another thread, and, to avoid a hijack, I started this one. Oddly enough, hanging around performance boating boards for 5 years now, I had never heard of this mod. Drilling a small hole in a front oil gallery plug (or 2 plugs) to directly spray more oil on the timing...

    We lit my new alky motor off today. Before hand I primed the motor with a drill on the oil pump till we got good oil press (70psi). Started it the oil press gauge went to 80, ran it mabey a minute checked timing shut it down pulled the valve covers to check things out, one side full of oil...
