I've been looking at some boats with setback pumps to buy and just about everyone of them has all this silicone goop that is used to seal the pump to the transom adapter and they look horrible... The owners say that they looked like that when they bought them new as there is no other way to seal...

Does anybody here run a setback pump with droop but no rideplate? I was thinking about removing the rideplate just to see how my boat would would ride. My guess is that it would porpoise all to hell but have never ran it that way and just curious. It's an 18.5 ft ultra (southwind t-deck mold)...

i have a 19 ft eliminator daytona with a 2.5 merc 260 turning a worked 26p merc chopper and was wondering if there is anything i can do to keep this boat from walking when i hit the mid 80's to the mid 90's its really bad and would like to keep it from doing so and make it sit flat and smooth...
