I was on a Chevy truck website and a guy on there said he uses starting fluid to find vacuum leaks. I know this is a very bad way to do this. What is the best and safest way to hunt a leak? Thanks for any input!

Any negatives about running a vacuum pump on a blown engine.

I am adding a vacuum pump to my twin engine boat motors. I am looking to pull around 10 inches. What brand would you recommend that will stand up to weekend use during the summer?

So here is the question. If you were to make an upgrade which would you do and why? Upgrade to a vacuum pump or a dry sump? Which will yield the most bang for the buck hp increase? What is the average cost for each upgrade roughly?
