    OK, we tried to get the encyclopedia section up and running a few weeks ago but ran into some issues. It is back now and has been tested. There is one known bug with inline images showing as links instead of thumbs, but nothing that should prohibit it's use.

    This section is very much like a Wiki. Any user can create or edit an <span class="glossarylink">

    <a href="http://www.performanceboats.com/vbglossar.php?do=showentry&amp;item=entry" onmouseover="return overlib('No preview available');" onmouseout="return nd();">&#101;&#110;&#116;&#114;&#121;</a>

    </span> . All changes are saved so entries can be reverted. Discussion threads can be opened on entries. Most importantly an <span class="glossarylink">

    <a href="http://www.performanceboats.com/vbglossar.php?do=showentry&amp;item=entry" onmouseover="return overlib('No preview available');" onmouseout="return nd();">&#101;&#110;&#116;&#114;&#121;</a>

    </span> will show up as a link inside any thread. For example <span class="glossarylink">

    <a href="http://www.performanceboats.com/vbglossar.php?do=showentry&amp;item=Lake+Havasu" onmouseover="return overlib('Lake Havasu City began as an Army Air Corps rest camp on the shores of Lake Havasu during World War II, but today it provides a different kind of...');" onmouseout="return nd();">&#76;&#97;&#107;&#101; &#72;&#97;&#118;&#97;&#115;&#117;</a>

    </span> will show up as an underlined link because there is an <span class="glossarylink">

    <a href="http://www.performanceboats.com/vbglossar.php?do=showentry&amp;item=entry" onmouseover="return overlib('No preview available');" onmouseout="return nd();">&#101;&#110;&#116;&#114;&#121;</a>

    </span> for it.

    The goal with the encyclopedia is to create a complete knowledge base of the following items (and others not listed):

    - Boat manufacturers and models with photos, specs and contact information.
    - Tech info, wiring diagrams, engine information, specs...
    - Boat repair shops, vendors and boating related suppliers
    - Boating destinations
    - Boating events
    - Clubs, groups and race organizations.

    I started out with a few categories but I'm sure I will need more. Please PM me if you have category suggestions.

    Here is a short video tutorial showing how to post. It is exactly the same as posting a thread. If you are a boat manufacturer, parts supplier or event coordinator this is a great opportunity to expand your reach into the forums.

    The general rules of common sense apply. No spam unless it is an <span class="glossarylink">

    <a href="http://www.performanceboats.com/vbglossar.php?do=showentry&amp;item=entry" onmouseover="return overlib('No preview available');" onmouseout="return nd();">&#101;&#110;&#116;&#114;&#121;</a>

    </span> about your company. For example please don't create an <span class="glossarylink">

    <a href="http://www.performanceboats.com/vbglossar.php?do=showentry&amp;item=entry" onmouseover="return overlib('No preview available');" onmouseout="return nd();">&#101;&#110;&#116;&#114;&#121;</a>

    </span> for widgets and then list your company as the supplier of widgets unless you are truly the only company on earth that makes them. PM me with any questions about this.
